It was a game of not too many opportunities but the best ones come to us. We have a way of playing and we don't change - sometimes it goes against us but, overall because of the pace of the teamit will usually go for us.

Why do these Managers always make excuses when they don't win against us? (under strength or out of form) They must think that we are an easy touch, and find it ignominious when they lose or draw

You are right Bill, but by blowing there own trumpets, they give you more praise than they realise.

When he says the fitness of his team was unbelievable, we obviously matched them.

When he said the back 4 were magnificent, we surely must have give them hell.

The NLP match report said the game was 4 star yet only gave all the players 6/10 bar two who hit the steady heights of 7/10, so how they match up I dont know.

I thought the same about the good old NLP - Comment on Cronin was "Did brilliantly" or something similar, yet he got only 6/10 - Luke Moore's comment was somehing like "could have used his pace to threaten Daggers ore", yet he was the one who got 7/10.

 

Somethng wrong with the rating or the write up as the 2 dont go together!

Bang on. Luke for me did his usual off the ball running without duly getting involved in the game and the substitution when it happened was no surprise, not 7/10 for me.

Aren't the stats usually supplied by the Press Association, so will often differ from whoever's writing for the NLP?

Well if thats the case its a farce. As the senior non league division you would think that every game would have its own reporter at the match, who works for the NLP and not the Beano or the Dandy.

NLP's not a particularly wealthy publication... and they're no more guilty of making use of PA's stats than the BBC, countless papers and websites and regional rags who do the same.

Stats you can deal with, after all its arguably fact, Its the floury bit that constitutes a match commentary thats laughable, they would be better off getting the commentary from a responsible individual at the match.
