I think the Government's interpretation of gas guzzlers is that they are predominantly owned by Women who want to be surrounded by lots of metal to make them feel secure, it's a sexual thing and totally un-necessary resulting in more damage to the environment.

Bull [****!!****]!!! My one probably gives out less harmful omissions than some of the scrap heaps of cars that are on the road!!!
As for making you feel secure - is a proven fact that most 4x4s are safer than a car!!
You don't even drive Rhodes so dont know how you can really pass judgement!!!!
You are right on one point though - they are good for sex - much more room in the back (have to take the dog cage out first though). <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I'm only quoting from the Jo Moore style memo, you're right I don't drive but give me a bed any day of the week and doing it in the comfort of your own home, although the other half has a car I've never really fancied going to some secluded country lane particularly since hearing about Stan Collimore's exploits.

Rhodes you always have to lower the tone!!

I hate to break up a political debate, but Rhodes it would be nice to read about Clement in Hebrew! if/When you get round to typing up the document!!

Well it's not me who lowers the tone on here. I'll post the Israeli press article once it arrives and will be happy to get it translated and type it up first although by the sounds of it Tubbsy8, Horace and Lato are all pretty fluent in Hebrew which is impressive. I suppose I could always knock on a few doors in Golders Green and Stamford Hill if I need any help with translation.

I think it looks a bit more like John Bacon minus the moustache of course and hat, are you sure you're not getting us mixed up. Have you ever spoken to John as he's a man of few words despite being one of the best Club Secretaries in the SSML if not the best.

I have many talents but I am certainly not fluent in any language, at times that includes english!

I like how they have taken only the South Midlands leagues awards prior to when the leagues amalgamated!

Horace - Interesting, what criteria do the SSML hierarchy consider in order to award the Secretary of the year prize.

I must agree with Rhodes here, mr Bacon is the best secretary around! Especially if you consider how hard his job is and the extra work he puts in.

Although I am sure there are many other great secretary's, anyone who has personal experience of John Bacon and the work he does will surely agree with me.

Maybe the league officials can give him a deserved award this year.

InformationZone2 - Very amusing but if you had done your homework you will know that this is my first season as an official Club Secretary and I wouldn't expect to win such a prestigious prize until I'm old and grey with at least ten years experience under my belt. I think it could well be John Bacon's year this season.

Absolutely no idea! The latest winner is of course Tracey James - a lady!

Horace - Yes I know Tracey from Biggleswade United and she's good but why do you put emphasis on her being a lady, it goes without saying as Tracey is a ladies name.
