Return of SCS ??

[color:"blue"]No real mention since Saturday, but will tonight see the return of SCS between the sticks?

Trotty seemed to be a little peeved with Charlie after the Tonbridge equaliser (to put it mildly).

Earlier this season Trotty said that once one of the 'keepers had the jersey it's his until he makes a mistake.

Has Charlie lost the Jersey? What do you all think?

Charlie has experiance at a higher level, and is still a graet keeper at this level, controls his area marshalls the defence

SCS is a great shot stopper with out a doubt, but the games I have seen (limited i know) he does not control his area, once off his line, i get worried that he loses composure

The way Trotty is playing the keepers could back fire, I mean if they are dropped after 1 mistake they are s***ing themselves over a mistake the next time, continuous mistakes yes, but not 1 mistake, both keepers will be nervous wrecks

I say stick with Charlie......for now

Lets make it 4 goals against then shall we? I know theres no guarantees that he would make an error again tonight in the same way as it cant be guarantee that Scott will be faultless but the question hasnt come about because of ONE error its been several. Why is is not a good thing for both keepers to try & be spot on in every game even if it means alternating them. Its a different scenario this year in that both keepers are able in their own way to do the job & be faultless.Charlie,to be fair to Scott has had a good run considering his errors of late.

I prefer Scott for other reasons & I think he might just be up for it more & wanting to show he is the number one keeper still. Well I think he is. Not by much but by enough for me to think that.Conditions will come into play too so errors by either tonight,if the game goes ahead, are not guaranteed not to happen no matter who gets selected.

I hope to see SCS back in goal tonight. I think he lost the shirt in an unfortunate way, from a defensive mistake where he was sold short through no fault of his own. I'm not sure if the goal was Charlie's fault on Saturday. I didn't have a great view of it. At Bromley (was a wet pitch though) there was an error and I can't help but feel that SCS deserves to play again for doing very little wrong in the first place. We're lucky to have two good keepers. Obviously if SCS plays its up to him to keep his place.

i havent seen charlie much this season but when training with him last year week in week out he has huge exsperiance and yer has a blunder now and again but all keepers have that.. he went htrough alot last year with his injurys that he played through, stick by him and get behind the bloke. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" />

I HAVE seen him Paul and he hasnt been foot perfect in the last three game.If he had,or even made one or two errors I doubt this question would have been asked. The errors he did make however were crucial ones in that goals were conceded every time. We ARE behind him but are you saying that if we decide we should go with Charlie it means we arent behind Scott too.WE have a choice & so has Trotty & it shouldnt be read that we dislike or are not behind one or the other if the other is preferred. Charlie is old & wise enough to know that I'm sure.Scott is still learning & may not understand so well but on the last few games form it has to be Scott given a go i.m.o.

Yes indeed or I will be in for a barrage of abuse I reckon."I told you so" etc.Its a chance we take with ANY keeper but after errors the other MUST be given the opportunity. If he fails badly for a few games then replace with Charlie & so forth. The team wont fall apart because of the change of keeper. They are generally both used to the others & vice versa.
Please dont take me wrong on this. As I stated in another thread title,"I love Charlie Mitten..but".
Who knows in 3,4 or 5 games it might be Scott thats mentioned in that title.

AS Peter says above, 3 goals conceded in last 3 games due to CM errors.

In fact, in the win over hampton, did'nt Charlie also make a bad error in that game-fumbling the ball against the bar -it could easily have been 4 errors in 4 games.

SCS will make errors aswell, but 4 serious ones in 4 games is unacceptable ,and for me ,SCS should be restored to his rightful postion.

It was only through trying to correct RT's error in first pleace that he got sent off !!
