Welcome to the new software :)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Well it took me 24 hours rather than 9-12 hours - but finally I have opened up the new software.

Many things are the same - but there are some changes.

I will compile a list shortly of the changes - but if you have any questions, please ask.

Please understand that some links may fail - but I am doing whatever I can to get all links fixed - please feel free to report any issues.

Many thanks.

Ian

Some of the new features...

PT - Private Topics - the ability to have a two way conversation with another person.

Online/Offline - the ability to see if a person is on or offline.

Mood Indicators - select your mood and it will display against your posts.

Multi-Question polls - more comprehensive polls

Calendar - private calendar as well as a public calendar - monthly and annual events.

RSS - RSS feeds - the ability to display an RSS feed on your club site.

New Post boxes - the ability to display the latest posts on your club site.

Shout Box - quick and easy posts in the shoutbox

Left and right hand margins - the ability to turn off the right hand column if you need more space, or just wish to hide the shoutbox.

We also have several new features in the pipeline... Many of which will enhance your own club website.

I seem to be having a couple of problems. I am unable to get into Gravesend and Northfleets forum, this message pops up when i try: We encountered a problem. The reason reported was

Database error only visible to forum administrators

Please use your back button to return to the previous page.

Also the pages that normally go yellow, denoting a new post, are white.

Hi Ian,

Is there any reason why new or updated posts are not showing as highlighted like they used to?

Also, how do we go about using the post boxes?

Appologies if this has been documented elsewhere.

Regards,

Mal

I appreciate that this took you hours to do but I'm going to be -ve.

There isn't enough space for the forum posts for my liking. I've turned off the right hand menu but there still isn't room with that left hand menu. Can we have an option to turn that off as well? The result is that with all the clutter I find it difficult to find actual posts. They feel shoved over to one side for the sake of menus.

I'm really not interested in seeing who's online, forum stats, who the top poster is, or especially CRICKET headlines!!! I understand that this is important to some people, so an option to hide it all would be lovely.

Sorry you are not happy - the left menu should be no more than the navigation that we had before - however, I am looking for a method to turn it off automatically on certain pages.

As soon as I can implement that, I will.

Sorry Ian, I can’t find the reply to this, also the little red numbers on new posts that I haven’t read, they don’t disappear after I have read the post,

Thanks mate Alex
