Town 0 W. Forest 0

Well, the highlights of this game were the missed pen by Forest, the great punch landed by Kev Stevens at the end of the first half and the oppo keeper's injury at the end of the game. Our shooting was woefully poor (as it was against P Bar) and if it hadn't been for their woeful shooting we would have lost.

Special mention has to go to the ref. What a total ars*hole!!!

Harris, Stephens, Bastian, Tickner, Allen, Magona, Velandia, Hall, Crace, Hammatt, Gant, Hunt, Nyman, Ofori, Jones

Gate 268

Well after the excellent performances of December normal service was resumed this week against Potters Bar and Waltham Forest. Town started well with a Ricci Crace volley saved. Rudi Hall went for the three points with a shot over the bar. At the other end WFFC shot wide. David Allen tackled back taking the ball off the boot of and attacker neatly. Ashley Harris from Bush Hill Park saved and started to steady the nerves of the town supporters. Ricci Crace was adjudged as offside by the linesman after running past a defender with the ball – unbelievable.

Bryan Hammatt was fouled with a kick in the face inside the box. Mr Young (bless him - not) gives a indirect free kick outside the box? Der? Velandia passes to Hall who has his shot saved. At the other end of the pitch a WFFC player dives speculatively in the box and gets a penalty immediately from Mr Young! The striker steps up and proceeds to shoot past the post! WFFC shoot wide. Kevin Stephen is fouled – Town free- kick Matt Waldron is shoved and proceeds to roll around dramatically on floor holding face – out come the punches. Kevin Stephen and Afolabi Orilonishe shown straight red cards. Matt Waldron gets and Oscar from the Town fans. Ashley Harris saved well. David Allen tackles back well. This match is already deteriorating and we have just finished the first half.

Andy Jones on for Matty Negus. Ashley saves well. Bryan Hammatt shot wide. Dave Hunt on for Rudi Hall. Andy Jones shoots wide. At the other end Town gave WFFC an open goal and they still missed. Dave Bastian off and Kojo Ofori on. Velandia shot wide. A Steve Magona miss-kick put WFFC in on goal for another miss. Ashley saved with a good clearance. Bryan Hammatt in one on one and did not punish it. At the end the WFFC keeper was injured after a 50:50 ball with Bryan Hammatt.

If you missed this game you were greatly blessed because WFFC played some negative football without Danny Gabriel. Our forwards were woeful and are in need of a game or two for the reserves. Maybe Leon Braithwaite can be fit soon? Whatever happened to Niall Ritchie?

Care for a little wager Brutus? Come on prove me wrong?

Matty's been imense for us so far this season.

On the whole, I think we should have won the game having missed 3 clear opportunities and the penalty.

As for the punch up - Your 2 and our 10 (Victor Renner) seemed to be the ones who started it. Your 2 was rightfully sent off although I couldnt see why our 11 was sent off...maybe a case of mistaken identity?

At the other end of the pitch a WFFC player dives speculatively in the box and gets a penalty immediately from Mr Young!...

I love a bit of biased reporting!

A well done to our keeper who came for crosses & caught everything cleanly and had a good game.

A not so well done to the Waltham Forest number 10 who is probaly the worst striker Ive seen at this level since...........Ahem.....anyway a reality check is needed & quick as thats 4 points from a possible 12.

It is refreshing to be reminded that biased officiating doesn't happen.

1.The foul on Hammett was so far inside the box,you had to laugh (otherwise you would have cried)when the ref awarded a free-kick instead of a penalty.

2.Considering Waltham forest's manager and assistant manager were playing in the game (Honnyball & Renner),i was also surprised to see about 9 people on the bench.Who were they all?

Coup

Be fair as has been said the foul on Hammet was so far in the box that I am convinced the ref was cross eyed.

As it appears he gave an indirect free kick for dangerous play he could have given it inside the box. As it is it is surprising how many fouls are give by refs just on the edge of the box and how few inside.

I thought that the WFFC pen was legitimate.

He seemed, however to let an awful lot go. At one time I thought that WFFC had given up playing with the ball.

The ref awarded an indirect free-kick for dangerous play, therefore it wouldn't have been a penalty regardless of where the ref decided the incident took place.

Hammett was kicked in the chest by a high boot,at least two to three yards inside the box.At no stage was Bryan anywhere near being outside the box.from when the ball was coming to him,to him being felled ,to laying pole axed on the ground,he was always 15 yards from goal.It was staggering decision, both from the ref and the lino who failed to correct the him.

You are joking aren't you!!?? The Forest forward accelerated past Magona who then brought him down because he just didn't have the pace to deal with him.
