The life of Chris Weller

Most of you probably dont see the Metro paper but there was almost a full page story on page 3 abt him. He lives in a bungalow in Strrod and had his house raided by police as he didnt have a licence for the two full size crocodiles he had in his living room!!! Because of the animals he had he lived in the loft of his bungalow...The trial went to court and although it was deemed he was an aminal lover was forced to pay 700GBP costs...We did get a mention by the way for the 1996 game vs Villa.

I remember the humourous players chant of 'Iguana' when he was manager. I agree, he always looked quite pale.

What a story sometimes pick up a Metro when i go up to London, remember the chant of ' Iguana' by the players also remember he being quite pale, probably scared stiff, mad or what, wonder what the neighbours think.

I remember that Shoot magazine did an article before the Villa game with a picture of Chris with a Nile Monitor Lizard under the heading "Pets win Prizes" a reference to a then tv programme.

Picked up the Medway News today, there is a picture and a story on Chris Weller and his animals.

Another interesting point I can recall about Chris is that on tv the evening before the Villa game, there was a short interview with him leaving Stonebridge Road, but instead of putting a caption up with his name on it for some bizzare reason the name Lord Kinaird was shown instead! Did they know something we didn't?
