How has he done for you lot ? no doubt he is not upto the standard

I noticed this also as I used to play cricket with the fella that Non League Knowledge is referring to, and having trawled your website I think it is a different player.

It is the same one. He went to Hitchin from Enfield.

Our player came from Hitchin. It looks like he is progressing through the leagues. He'll be on Match of the Day by the end of the season.

Yep it is the one that was with us before going to Boreham Wood and then Enfield 1893.

Enfield 1893 are a brand new team that were formed at the start of this season after Enfield FC folded.

1893 was the year the original Enfield Football Club were formed so the '1893' moniker is added to the club name in an attempt to imply that this newly formed club is the original club which it clearly is not! by coincidence, the combined 'home' attendance figure for Enfield FC's last season in the Ryman League 1 South was also '1893'

Regardless of the technicalities, I'm guessing most City fans will consider Enfield 1893 as the real Enfield that we had so many battles with in the past. Isn't it about time the two clubs merged again?

I agree. It is time the two clubs merged and the majority of Enfield Town supporters voted in favour of a merger. The chairman wrote to the Chairman of Enfield 1893 FC to offer the olive branch but they haven't shown any interest to date.

Well, at least the club we now follow has a tenancy within the borough, and not in St.Albans, Boreham Wood or Ware. I used to love the dying days at Enfield FC, travelling away every game on our slow decent into the abyss (very depressing given how big a non-league club we once was).

I remember some good battles between Enfield and St.Albans.

I would like to see a merger also, so then everyone can pull the club, whatever it may be called, in the same direction, whilst looking for our own ground in Enfield. The majority of old Enfield FC fans are now Towners, to the best of my knowledge, but it would be nice to get the divided fanbase back together again.

I doubt if the game will attract 1,000+ like the Boxing Day derbies used to.

 

If the game is at Clarence Park then I predict an attendance of 0.
