Town 2 VCD 1

Well done to the boys today - it wasn't pretty but they got the job done on a very heavy pitch.

The highlight was Glenn Poole's piledriver to put us 2 up in the final quarter of the game. Just as well, as we conceded our customary late goal right at the end.  I thought VCD played some good football but fortunately their final ball often let them down.

Our first league win at home since August and our third win on the bounce - Reasons to be cheerful. COYB

An even game overall. I thought VCD played the better football, but ultimately we looked for dangerous and the most solid at the back we've looked for ages.

Thought we were lucky with the penalty - I didn't think it was a foul. But that set us up well.

Still quite a few players that need to work on their touches and passing (including knowing when to pass!!) and our set pieces were poor.

Still 3 on the bounce is decent form. We're finally seeing some consistency on team selection.

Worried about Monday though. Pitch looked bad before the game started, and very second hand by the end. Seems like we haven't overcome all the issues that we were told we had as it's all in the same place as the last 2 years. May now depend entirely on what ref turns up.

COYB.

I thought it was a good solid performance by the team. We were better than them in all departments but still we have that habit of letting teams come back at us... Still the latter comment is just a small gripe.

Great goal by Glenn Poole and Halle played one of his best games this season. I thought the lads worked hard but for me Pooley and Edwards were the pick. The TC programme player of the match goes to Edwards as it was the best game he played since joining BTFC.

Well done to the team. Good win!!!

I thought we played well and if anything 2 1 flattered them. It was a tough surface but everyone dug in and had a decent game - it was especially pleasing to see some of our younger players step upto the plate.

Confidence is king so hopefully we can carry on in the same vein on Monday.

I thought Pooley edged it for MOTM though Jack did have his best game in a (proper) blue shirt!

I thought The lad's were as solid as I've seen them all season. Well, led by both Halle & Poole.

We hardly ever get the benefit of doubt from ref's and it was a blessing that we got the pen when we did. Taken as cool as a breeze by our captain.

I agree about the pitch it was looking great earlier in the morning but went down hill fast. But to be fair we have had a huge amount of rain this week. Playing on Monday night instead of Tuesday nights is never going to help our cause where the pitch is concerned.

Nice to see the good atmosphere back in the clubhouse, helped along by the £1 off a pint during the first half of the England game  :D

Oh up until he was taken off i thought our Number 7 (not sure of his name) played a blinder.

Well done lad's

COYB's
