Enfield Town v AFC Hornchurch

It's cup action all the way for Town this week, starting with a Ryman League Cup 2nd Round tie, against our old friends AFC Hornchurch, under the lights at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium, tomorrow (Tuesday) evening, KO 7.45pm.

The Urchins, who were relegated from the Ryman Premier Division in the 2014-15 season, have made an encouraging start this season in Ryman Division One North, and currently sit 7th in the table, just six points behind leaders Bury Town with a game in hand. No doubt promotion back to the RPD is their main objective this season.

Town have had some close matches with Hornchurch in the past, and will need to be on top of their game in this encounter to progress through to the next round. Two years ago we did a league double over them, winning 1-0 away and 3-2 at home.

Good luck to Brad and the boys. Let's continue our winning run ahead of our FA Trophy match at the weekend.

A change or two but too many just makes it seem like a reserve team rather than seeing how certain players fit in the first team.

Will certainly be interesting to see what our line up is tonight, and how many changes there are from Saturday. Certain first choice players were missing in the Canvey game, wonder if they will return this evening. Both sides have important matches coming up, so guess both camps will be keen to avoid injuries. That said Town will not want a home defeat this evening, so will pick a strong enough team to, hopefully, do the business. We'll soon find out!

Note the final score was 4-1 to Hornchurch, so well done and due credit to The Urchins.

See the attendance was just 120 last night, which probably reflects the level of interest in this competition, and why there have been no comments posted on this surprise result.

Last Saturday we beat ten-men Canvey 5-1 away, then lose 4-1 at home with ten-men to Hornchurch. Apart from getting out of this competition, it is hard to see any positives, particularly with an important money-spinning FA Trophy match next up on Saturday. Hardly ideal preparation!

Beardsleyesque, on paper we fielded a strong team, with enough first team regulars to win this match, if we were really serious about progressing to the next round. One can only conclude we treated it more as a training exercise, oblivious to the outcome. How else can you explain a three-goal deficit at home, against a lower division side, who scored all five goals in the match?

I really hope we bounce straight back, but our performances have been very inconsistent of late, and supporters don't know what to expect one week to the next. Don't think this inspires confidence.

What has happened to Mark Kirby and Harry Ottaway? Are they still available for selection?

Andy, didn't know there were two sendings off. Tyler Campbell was one, who was the other?
