Well done lads, a good win. As for the Legion boys, a nicer group of guys you won't meet, a superb day.

£1,500 raised as well, all for a fantastic cause.

Spot on Glen. Thier an excellent bunch of lads.

Final result was 4-2 to us although i should of had a hat-trick, had a goal dissowloud, hit the post and mist an absolute sitter from 3 yards with a header.

The money raised was superb. atleast £1,500 made for an excellent charity and a big thank you to the people that turned up (About 250) and everyone who bought raffle tickets.

Look forward to the next battle with the legion.

Yep Wayne was back at his usuall tricks again. Diving in the area after a gust of wind had apparantly knocked him over and trying to claim a penalty.

Cant remember the actual number but The Great Escape won it. He is generously going to put it back into the supporters club so it can be auctioned/raffled after the FA cup game next week against Burnham. All money will go to our flag Funds

Such a good cause, I probably would have coughed that on raffle tickets etc if I had been there.

Well done anyway.

I take it the team that plays in the six a side tournament in Basildon every sunday are not part of the yellow army did not recognise any of them, they play in Canvey kit though.

Well done lads a quality day yesterday.
Couldn't believe the amount of people there and to raise that amount of money was beyond belief. The guy who is raising the money thought,as did i that we would probably only get about £3-400 max.
As for the game itself you certainly deserved the win although we had you concerned before you hit that late 4th. I should have scored to put us 2-1 up after REISS'screamer (great goal mate) and after that i couldn't pick my legs up. Your right Rich, you forget how big that pitch is. I knew i'd get some stick for going down in the box and the booing that rung out was very funny. Although to be fair my legs were gone then and were never going to keep me up.

Same again next year for the local Macmillan Cancer Nurses, a charity that i think most people have had some association with or possibly will do at some stage in their lives.
Well done again to all and especially Jayne who i forgot to thank yesterday for working the turnstiles. You are all a massive credit to the club and Canvey Island itself.
