Only just had the opportunity of logging on and adding my comments to this thread. Very, very sad to hear of the passing of Stan.

 

Eccentric, odd-ball, funny, barmy, passionate, friendly, dedicated, daft, fanatical… you could go on for ever in your search of words to sum Stan up. He was what watching football is all about, the bloke you stand next to on the terrace just once and you remember the experience for the rest of your life. What a pity there aren’t more Stans around.

 

We will miss you mate; your humour, your friendship and your passion for the club. If there is a bar in heaven, what’s the betting they are running short of cider already and there is a yellow scarf hanging behind the bar?

Exeter, the first season we were in the Conference.

Remember at Lowestoft, he nearly got us all arrested for swearing at two Coppers? The Yellow Army started singing Old McDonald, so they escorted him to another part of the ground for a talking to.

We were behind a goal and the stewards were trying to drag him away, because he threw a fag packet at them and hit one of them in the face.

 

It was so funny!!!

 

You had to be there to find it funny, the man is a legend.

The Exeter game was when he was insistent upon singing about his beloved Plymouth Arglye (Exeter's locals rivals). Took 4 stewards to drag him out if i remember.....O those were the days !!
