Hendon Game

Ah well that's Webmaster love for you, definately more than one view to every game. Agree or not we won, they didn't, they need to win by three clear goals next week to go through and it looks likely at the minute that I won't be able to make that game!! Shame, I wanted to see Wardy take another chunk of guttering out of their condemned stand!!

The reporter isn't the webmaster in the case of our reports - we use the report from our press officer.

I did think that we had the better of the game in the first half hour or so, and had we not given away that stupid free kick just after we pulled it back to 3-2 it would have been very interesting next week.

Also we only need to win 2-0 or 3-1 as I'm told that away goals count if scores are level after 90 minutes next week.

Neil Gregory's goal was an absolute peach, and Lee Protheroe's dead ball delivery was top quality. There is no doubt in my mind that the better side won on the night, but I don't think the tie is dead yet, especially if we get an early goal next week.

Both games we've had with you have been great so far, hopefully the second leg and second league game will continue in the same vein - obviously with two Hendon victories.

Oh yeah - funniest moment of the night last night was when Kevin Dobinson gave Ashley Harrison a real dressing down in the first half after a corner eluded everyone. Dobinson obviously thought that Harrison should have claimed it, which we felt was a bit harsh.

At 3-2 the game would definitely still been alive and whilst we might lose next week I can't see us conceding two clear goals. We will most probably score and whilst our defence has been far from great only in the Bishop Stortford debacle at the start of the season have we lost by more than one clear goal. Hendon will really have to attack us to get back the advantage but then again they have to keep us out!

P.S I forgot about Chelmsford in the ESC.

Apart from that, one of the webmasters lives on the other side of wales for 30 weeks a year. Which makes it a bit difficult for me to write match reports of any kind, let alone biased ones <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As for the second game - we've proved we can break down Canvey twice this season. It just so happens that we've also failed to prevent you from scoring on both occasions.
