Sadly so few do understand the game nowadays mickt,which is surprising given the coverage the game gets nowadays. Luckily, I had a "Football-know the game" given to me for my seventh birthday.

i didnt say I read it swoonie!

my gillette soccer book had pictures of spurs players with cups, open top bus rides down the glamorous tottenham high road (!)

Later that same year spurs went on to beat chelsea in the first london fa cup final, so not past the fifty yet.

not so much a train,swoonara, its creeping up on me slowly like a stalking cat! Champers all round on the happy day but its a couple of seasons yet.

Apparently Guildford came from 2 down to beat Ryman Prem Carshalton on penalties tonight at the Spectrum.

 

Well done Guildford - away to Molesey or Whyteleafe I believe in the quarters

Guildford win 4-3 on penalties

 

We went 2 down, pulling one back through Simon Sheppard towards the end of the first half.

 

Second half we bundled in an equaliser and had a good spell, before having a player sent off (2 cautions) with 15 minutes left.

 

Backs against the wall time!

 

Some scary moments between then and the end of extra time, but we held on thanks to a combination of our incredible keeper Jay Gindre, some strong defending, and the dodgy pitch!

 

Gindre was the hero, saving two penalties to send us through to the quarters!

 

Cue ecstatic scenes in the stand at Guildford. Such support never before seen for the club in its current state!
