Well done to SL and Frimley G, proved me wrong and showed I know feck all about football

The words snatch and grab spring to mind. Staines had far more of the posession but we blocked out the back line and Staines found it difficult to penetrate. All we could do was be patient and hit them on the counter attack.

 

Staines could have and should have had a penalty in the first half, but rather than go down, the no. 11 got a shot away.

 

The game sprang to life in the last 10 minutes when Peters spotted Liam Stone off his line a drove a shot in from about 35 yards. A few minutes later Staines equalised from a corner (I think Jay Coombs) and then Coombs almost put Staines in front when he tried to lob Matty Watson, but he back pedalled well to push the ball over. Approaching stoppage time, Peters forced a good save from Stone and then from the resulting corner, Danny Harrison powerfully headed home from Peters' centre.

 

Again a draw would have been a fair result, but three points is three points.
