Bilbo - How can you say that Leyton spent a couple of years in the wilderness making it sound as if the Club's saviour has been your two hero's, namely Steve Newing and Del Deanus. Granted they have done a reasonable enough job so far but Leyton are a sleeping giant and they have a long way to go in dragging the Club up by the boot laces and taking them to their rightful place at Step 2 or 3 level. Anyway I guarantee as soon as Newing and Deanus eventually leave Lea Bridge Road for pastures new you will follow them like a shot.

Bilbo - For a 'grown up man', and I use the term loosely, aren't you being a little childish. Incidentally Edgware FC approached Ken Batten recently to bury the hatchet and join forces with us next season, we offered the hand of friendship but he didn't appear particularly interested and somewhat aloof for example he has apparently never heard of Uncle Urchin which I find incredible, what planet has he been living on.

LEYTON 1 - DULWICH HAMLET 4

FA Trophy

Saturday 4th October 2008

A few mad minutes in injury time at the end of the first half turned Leyton's 1 - 0 lead to see them go into the break a goal down. Greg Ngoyi scored for the home team, turning to blast home a ball from Stuart Blackburne, 26 minutes into the first half . Unfortunately, the stocky striker twisted his ankle in the move and had to be substituted.

A concerted attack by the visitors late into the half and ex Leyton player Marc Cumberbatch, levelled the scores, moments later the Hamlets had a throw in on the left, Andy Jones rose to head away the challenge but misjudged his jump, the ball came off the back of his head, over Rob Blackburne, in the home goal, and trickled in at the far post.

Goals in the second half by Daryl Plummer on the hour and substitute Laurent Hamili just before the final whistle ended Leyton's second cup competition this season.

Hardly a surprising result, I think the Leyton bubble has now well and truly burst

Bilbo - How come no mention of your beloved Leyton since 7 October, that's nearly two weeks now and I'm dying for some news, are you losing interest already.

Bilbo - Can you update us on the curent situation at Leyton as there is nothing on your 'new Website', surely you are trying to resolve the sorry situation 'as we speak' as presumably you are scheduled to play midweek.

A bit of nonsense for you to be going on with Rhodent until an announcment is made by the officers of the club

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

The frumious Bandersnatch!

We await your interpretation of the above with baited breath.

TUESDAY 28th October

A defensive mistake and a sucker goal in the first few minutes that gave Rob Blackburne, Leyton's big keeper, no chance was all that separated the two sides tonight.

With all the trauma of the previous week, a nightmare journey to the wilds of Essex, accidents and traffic chaos on the A12, players unavailable or just not able to get to the game and a freezing cold night all added to the misery.

Bilbo - So is your game with Thamesmead Town definitely going ahead on Saturday at Lea Bridge Road, do you now have full access to the stadium.
