Tony Martin

Recommended Posts

The burglar suing is a joke. But that's a different issue. And I beleive it's already been thrown out of court.

I'm not saying that I wouldnt have shot the pikey b*stard. But it doesnt mean that 'Big Tone' wasnt in the wrong. It was an act of stupidity.

But then, a huge number of people in prison are there for one moment of stupidity. They have done one terrible or thoughtless thing.

Tony Martin is one of these people. We cant release everyone just because we think it's a bit harsh.

Would everyone be protesting so much if Tony Martin was a working-class muslim, or black?

I cannot comment on wether the gun was legal or illegal, I understood he owned a farm and most farmers own a gun. "

So do most drug-dealers. An unlicensed gun is an unlicensed gun. I cant see that it's relevant whether most farmers have them or not.

And dont start me on bloody farmers..................

I think that you will find that the gun was legal...ie........he had a licence.....

I think that the point Boroman was trying to make was the inconsistency of the sentence and the harshness of the appeal rejections.........when compared to other more 'politically sensitive' issues........where the perpertrators have walked away scot free......

everyone has an opinion as to the rights and wrongs of what Martin actually did......thats fair enough but......

personally I wanna kill anyone that even walks up my drive.............f*** 'em.......its my drive.......

they shouldn't be there unless I invited 'em....

No it is not illegal to shoot someone, Only a judge and jury can make that decision

For instance if you are attacked by an individual with a gun and in a struggle that individual is shot the judge and jury can free you as blameless

You can hold a license and accidentally shoot someone, again normally a court will be required to decide accident or not

If you have reason to believe you are being attacked by an armed robber etc and you have a licensed gun it would take a court to decide

Tony Martin is still in prison because he will not admit to remorse

For me a person on count three of burglary should equal minimum ten years no nothing for good behaviour

no I'm not and have no aspirations in that direction......

I am however surrounded by working farms and get on very well with the farmers.....must admit they are a breed on their own though.........

one of them has a magnificent pile......a garage full of vintage cars.....holiday homes all over the place and yet he still writes to his MP (tory) every day claiming to be going out of business and pleading for something to be done about increasing the EU subsidies......

love it...great stuff....

Lets just get one fact into perspective !

Like Motor Cars, guns ARE NOT DANGEROUS, it is the prats that often use them that are dangerous.

Tony Martin had a legally licenced gun, and used it in the defence of his life and property, same as I would have done.

Two pikey's disturbed on his land ? They wouldn't hurt a solitary middle aged man ? Oh, come on now................ !!

Official: Exactly. Moaning bunch of gits. Producing crap noone wants, causing their own problems and wanting to be bailed out of them by the government (BSE, FMD), and poncing off the EU all the time.

Big JR: I'm not defending the pikeys. The dirty little feckers! And clearly that gun WAS dangerous in Martin's habds, coz he killed someone with it. It's unlikely his life was in danger because the pikeys were pegging it away. The dead one was shot in the back.

Would you have shot a woman on your property? A kid? Someone older? Or just teenagers and foreigners?

The salient point has been made more than once but appears to be being missed, or deliberately overlooked.

Murder is illegal in English law. Various other acts causing death are illegal. A jury will decide on the facts of the case and a judge will give guidnace on maters of law, and pronounce sentence if a guilty verdict is returned.

It is legal to defend your person or your property with reasonable force. To shoot to kill is very rarely justifiable. You would have to demonstrate that you believed that your own life (or concievebly that of a third party) was in genuine danger and that was the only way to preserve it.

Clearly to shoot at unarmed persons running AWAY cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, in English law, be considered "reasonable force". THis has NOTHING to do with Blair's, or any other government whether labour, Tory or Liberal, it is common (judge-made) law that has been around for donkey's years.

So the guy did wrong, got caught, was found guilty by a jury and sentenced by a judge. Then some small format right wing newspapers got on to the story....
