FA Vase - Sport London e Benfica v St. Neots

Recommended Posts

Normally I would agree with you but this game is proving you wrong:

Two coaches coming down from Cambridge ... Benfica's Official Supporters Club Diabos Londrinos are going to be present with some of their members ... special guests ...

I think this game (win or lose) is the game to watch this Saturday!

Special1 - For once I agree with you paricularly as you won't have any competition locally, Kentish Town's game with Biggleswade Town will most certainly be off.

Special1 - The St Neots Town Website has a few pictures of the stadium, it shows how far your Club have come doesn't it from the bad old days of travelling to Willesden Constantine and Neasden Foundation and playing on park pitches only two seasons ago:

Not sure if that was a personal attack but I believe their landlords may have taken advantage of the situation, allegedly.

The big differences between rent paid by teams having to pitch share and teams with their own grounds is vast. Although the team had discarded the old manager/fundraiser during their Middlesex days, they had it coming to them, but I can sympathise as I know how difficult it is to establish a team at this level.

When some teams pay 1GBP for their ground rent and others pay 10k that, there is a big difference in the season's tasks for teams.

To answer your statement, I believe the newly promoted teams should receive some sort of protection either by the league or their county FA to help them establish themselves. You can't blame teams for trying and getting it wrong especially if leagues are all too ready to fine teams for making honest mistakes!

Special1 - Okay, maybe Neasden Foundation was a bad example but you know what I mean, 95% of your away games in the Middlesex County League were on roped off park pitches that made even Hackney Marshes seem like Wembley, it must have been a complete culture shock when you got promoted to the SSML Division 1 and went to places like the Copthall Stadium, Royston, Hoddesdon and palatial Arlesey Athletic.

Dead Cert would be either Kentish Town or Biggleswade Town

The outsider taking all of this into account would be Sport London e Benfica:
Only Division 1 team. Playing a Step 5 team.
Lost last 2 games.
Didn't score in the last 2 games.
Let in 8 goals in the last 2 games.

These two are playing each other this weekend - no safe money bet then?
