I have a strange feeling...

Hmmm.

I have no problem with either of this season's kits. I'm sure that, with the sponsors' names and the badge, they'll look very dashing. I'm glad to hear that the baby blue will be banished to the ressies forever, too.

GHA - in your capacity as SACFC's token egg-chaser, do you think we may be better served next season by having letters on the back of our shirts as opposed to numbers?

Hi Caretaker.

I suspect that the first problem is that only three people in The Club liked the sky-blue Baldock kit. Roberts, Cookie and that chap that runs the Reserves. Someone must have said "O.K. HKS. No-one else likes the thing, your lot can have it."

What is happening to last season's home and away strips? The home kit is to worn for the Arsenal XI game as Life Time are sponsoring the match which is fair enough. There was a suggestion that the Supporters Club auction of last season's home kit is postponed to the start of this season.

If there are second thoughts about the sky-blue stuff by the Reserves, perhaps they could make a pre-emptive bid for the entire home strip to that Chairman of The Supporters Club chap. Best not mention anything to anyone else to avoid some entrepreneur buying the No 9 shirt in order to sell it on to The Reserves at a modest premium.

Alright, the truth is that I have a pathological hatred of Yellow. I played for years in a number of yellow kits and developed a deep seated hatred of the colour.

This is obviously a bit of a problem when being part of SACFC.

It's also much easier, and sounds better, to encourage the chaps with cries of 'Come on you Blue Boys', rather than 'come on you stripes' in which the forbidden colour is not mentioned.

Please note that this doesn't really work work with red, as cries of 'come on you red boys' can easily be mistaken for 'come on you rent boys', which in Pete Hansens case is a bit close to home.

So there, now you know the truth.

To close for comfort

The shout should be "Come on City boys". No confusion there .....

Wrong. In the last two seasons St Albans City under 18's have won two Hertfordshire County Cups, 01/02 and 02/03, The Allied Counties Eastern League, overall Allied Counties Divisional Championship and the Allied Counties League Cup.

All in the name of St Albans City FC....and we play in yellow

So, in other words HKS, it's all your fault.

I was about to E-mail a bid for the No 9 shirts of last seasons home and away kits of £200 to that Chairman of the Supporters Club on the basis that I could turn them to you to complete the set for £500 each.

Thank goodness I read your message. They will probably go for £2 each on the day. Phew.

P.S. to Rob.

Brazil?

I assure you they are......in fact, anything is better than nothing.

Feel this has somewhat moved away from the main point of club colours and not many people from Snorbins will be able to join in if we continue talking about winners ....ooops

Caretaker.

My views of the Baldock kit are well documented on here. For the avoidance of doubt, I detested it. Stick a Saints badge and a number on it and it's still horrible sky-blue Baldock kit.

HKS, who, I suspect, is a head honcho in the Reserves set-up, loves it to death. Well, good for him. He's got it.

Good business on the part of Gibbo as I wouldn't clean the motor in one of those shirts. In fact, I wouldn't clean the motor with one of those shirts.

P.S. HKS.

A very, very good friend of mine who is a Building Surveyor was at a dinner party with you a few weeks ago. He spoke highly of you although I've since put him right. Chelsea season ticket holder so if you tell him that you will be playing in blue next season, he probably won't think to ask the shade.

He's worth a call.

I'll waive my usual commission if anything comes of the introduction. Doin' it for the City, etc.

Afternoon Caretaker, no direspect to anyone, but after listening to 2 hours of chanting in Hebrew we needed each other just to hold on to our sanity.

And of course our skullcaps (can't remember what there proper name is).

We decided not to go back the following week.

Methinks we're getting off the subject somewhat, we need a new football related thread.

Any thoughts anyone ? Unless of course we haven't finished with this one.
