Well, I think they're rather nice. I could actually be persuaded to buy one, for once. Hmmm. A shirt and an enamel badge. That's just what I need. At least they resisted the temptation to [****!!****] around with it - yellow chevrons, "ST ALBANS CITY" printed across the middle in felt letters and so on - you all know what I'm talking about.

I'm sure that the small, but perfectly formed, committee that have decided upon the new design [presumably Gibbo, Cookie, Webbo, that Chairman of the Supporters Club chap and that chap that runs the Supporters Club shop?] have considered all that, GHA. It will be fine.

Hmmm... a plain yellow shirt with blue trim? Now: hwo does that remind me of?

 

For what it's worth, I'd prefer a plain white kit to either of those listed below:

 

- a sky blue kit that we always lose in (particularly important matches by a big margin - cf: Canvey (every year), Stockport, Bedford, er... Kingstonian).

 

- anything coloured in a style that may remind me of Manchester United (it's a personal thing).

 

To be fair, it's difficult to judge until badges & sponsors names are on it, but if I know for certain that we're not wearing baby blue, I'll be considerably more confident about next year's trip to Canvey (at least we might make a game of it).

I hope that I can re-assure you.

 

Someone who seemed to know what he/she was talking about came on here a couple of weeks ago and said that the Baldock Blue strip is to be worn by the Reserves this season. [i don't think that they are in the same League as Canvey.]

 

I know that you don't get to many games, Trev. but we still play in yellow and blue. Unlikely to clash with Manchester United, therefore.

HKS. I've been away for a while, have missed a lot it seems.

 

Wot !! No new kit ? Thought the club had a new sponsor ?

 

New shirts, free from ICIS based on replica sales. Has anyone enquired about more than just kits for first team ? Sky blue kit is OK but now showing signs of wear. Will need items replacing I reckon. Can you still get this kit ?

 

Also can't imagine Man Utd reserves wearing sky blue <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Afternoon Caretaker, I must admit I like the Sky Blue, too many others in the E & H play in Yellow and Blue, most of which are minging.

 

I understand your concerns concerning the state of the kit, but I have it on very good authority that repairs have been made. Especially to the shorts where there were several drawstrings missing. I remember a certain right winger (whinger) moaning about them last year as he had to play with one hand holding them up. Somewaht restrictive I would imagine.

 

I also believe that the kit is still available, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check that one out.

 

If by the comment regarding MU reserves, you're referring to a certain Indian Builder, then don't worry, they don't wear the [****!!****] training kit either.

 

A very popular line amongst some of the chaps last season.
