Kate is thick - I just said in a sraight [******] choice between her and Justine she'd win.

I'd still take Justine over Kate!!

Kids these days really annoy me. The fact that a 23-year old doesn't know who Adam Ant is, is just disgraceful. Ok, so she'd have been about 2 or 3 when he was having hits but that's not the point.

I was 2 or 3 when The Police or The Jam were having hits, but I owned a Police Best-of album when I was 11. I had The Jam one by my mid-teens.

I despair of the youth of today. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

That reminds me, your mate who has written about Tony was on XFM this week. I didn't hear it myself, but he was talking about his book, so perhaps Tony got a mention?

As for the youth not having heard of Adam Ant, I wouldn't take Kate Lawler as a representative of the 'youth' she seems to know nothing about anything!

I used to be terrified of Adam Ant as a child, him and Zelda from Terrorhawks were the only 2 things that used to send me blubbing behind the sofa <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I was wth this girl last night, she's 21 and lived in Manchester from when she was born until she was about 11, so she left in 1993 - Never heard of the whole Madchester scene, never heard of the Inspiral Carpets or the Hacienda and she's a Manc, I had to tell her about the biggest youth movement of the last 20 years and she lived right in the middle of it. She's going to quiz her Mum about it.

Sounds good to me! I'm amazed about the lack of knowledge of some of the kids today when it comes to music. When it comes to the top bands of the 70s,80s they have no idea. Then again I didn't really get into music until I was 15/16 (mid nineties) but I still knew and appreciated bands such as The Police, Jam, Stones, Beatles e.t.c.
