Does anyone remember that the kick-off for our game against Gillingham was brought forward to 2.00 as the Gills "were departing on their pre-season tour that evening".

 

I thought at the time: "I wonder where a 1st Division club goes? Italy, Spain or Portugal rather than South America or the Far East, I thought. Now we know. Essex and Kent.

How? GD was the same and although St A kept a clean sheet, Gravesend (lovely name, doesn't it just make you want to pack your bags and move there?) did managed to get a goal passed them.

Come on Hel. You have friends in high places. Have a word with Gibbo for next season. Not too far. An hour and a half, say. South Coast? The [Cornish] Riviera? The Far East again, if you like, but South of that tip, Lowestoft. Woodbridge?
