A brief report from another's Forum:

3.0 - Leverstock Green 1 Rye United 2 - FA Vase 5th Round - Programmes £1 - Attendance approx 250

A well deserved win for Rye takes them into the last 8 of the competition, which is a remarkable achievement for a club who have only just got back to playing in their own town following an arson attack on their ground at the start of the season. Even more incredible is that they have now got through 7 rounds, winning each one away from home. They went behind here after Ben Butler's header put LG ahead, but a penalty converted by Duncan McArthur evened the scores before the break. Shaun Loft's bullet header from a corner won the game and Rye were dominant in that second half on a boggy pitch, although the ref pointed to the spot in injury time for LG only to see the linesman flagging for offside - the LG officials disagreed with that decision not surprisingly.

Rhodes - Your such a kn0b, why would I have the two results? Been busy with my own club, you know the one you can't work out.

Another report on this one from another's Forum:

Saturday 12 February 2011 – FA Vase

Leverstock Green (white/green/green) 1-2 Rye United (red with black sleeves/black/black)

I had a great difficulty in selecting my match for today, but fell back on the best local contest to avoid a long car journey to Leiston; they can wait for another day. I settled for this FA Vase tie on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead with Rye United the visitors. Rye United kicked off uphill on an undulating surface with several patches of heavy mud in the centre circle. The opening exchanges favoured Rye United, but on 13 minutes Leverstock Green’s first attack of the game saw them score with a header from a right wing cross. Rye United regained possession and on 25 minutes were awarded a penalty, when a cross was blatantly handled. The penalty kick was converted for the equalising goal. Leverstock Green seized up and Rye United took over for the rest of the contest and apart from one chance they controlled the entire second half. Rye United scored their winner in the 76th minute, heading home a left wing corner kick, but Leverstock Green could only make one more chance, which was denied them by the referee.

What was it like with 377 'souls' at Pancake Lane last Saturday, the figure must be fairly close to the Club's record attendance
