You are the one with the "big interest". I am merely giving up-to-date information on the fixture.

I will not be at the game.

Will you?

I assume we are using this thread for today's results. Hoddesdon Town v Berkhamsted will be an interesting one as will Kentish Town v Royston Town as that could easily be an old fashioned Haringey Borough v Hertford Town from 2006/2007

Hoddesdon 1-3 Berko, some good stuff from both sides on a very dusty pitch, plenty of full blooded tackles without being over the top. 0-0 at half time berko played better 2nd half with wardle opening the scoring. Hoddesdon went straight down the other end and equalised, not sure who scored but a penalty followed by a 3rd made the game safe. 4 more wins should clinch the league. Slightly disappointing away support, thought a few more might make the journey.

Premier Division

1 1 Broxbourne Borough v Hanwell Town

A report on this one from another's Forum:

Broxbourne Borough 1 Hanwell Town 1 South Midlands League

Admission £6/ £3 (inc programme) - probably one of the best I've seen this season.

Tea 60p

h/c 43

Goff's Lane is an interesting ground with one large seated stand and further seats and covered standing behind the goal and around part of the opposite touchline. It has a feel of a ground older than it actually is. For some reason the club had the large screen showing pop videos rather than the England game, hence the club was very quiet. The game saw both teams look dodgy in defence and it was no surprise when the home team took the lead froma s uperb chip over the keeper. The lead didn't last lone when Hanwell scored after a good run. There should have been more goals as the Hanwell defenders seemed unable to head the ball and the home team defenders seemed very slow. Strangely the second half was better football even though there were no more goals. Broxbourne thought they'd won it in the last minute, but the goal was disallowed due to off-side. A draw was a fair result.

Division One

1 4 Welwyn Garden City v Wodson Park

A report on this one from another's Forum:

Welwyn Garden City 1 - 4 Wodson Park

SSML Div 1

Admission £5; Prog free (plenty available)

A bottom of the table clash that didn't promise a great deal when I chose it, but delivered a very good game.

The ground has fairly basic facilities, but is surrounded by greenery as it backs onto a golf course. Phone reception is excellent as 4 of the 6 floodlight pylons carry phone masts. A light aircraft buzzed the ground at regular intervals all afternoon.

There's a reasonably sized car park at the ground.

The pitch was quite bumpy and dusty, but the teams overcame that. It was an interesting contrast of styles, with WGC playing a passing game and WP much more direct.

WGC started well, and took the game to the visitors. After taking an early lead, they looked well in control.

WP's style of through balls to pacy forwards started to have an effect though, and they scored twice before half time, with the home keeper making a couple of excellent saves to deny them more. HT 1-2.

WP hit a third early in the second half, and for the rest of the match, WGC pushed forward to try to reduce the deficit, while WP tried to hit them on the break. Welwyn had chances to pull a goal back, but as the game neared the end they comitted more to attack. Wodson Park's breaks got more dangerous, and got a fourth from a penalty, which resulted in a red card for the fouling defender.

Felt a bit sorry for Welwyn, who had played some good stuff and didn't really deserve to lose by 3.

Pete - what did you do to Rhodes? He loves giving you grief! ha ha ha ha

Does anybody need to do anything to Rhodes to get grief from him?

I did something today that Rhodes does every week. I did not attend a SSML fixture.

I'm being saved as I have 7 games scheduled for April.

Division One

1 3 Bedford v Cranfield United (at Biggleswade Town)

Another report on this one from another's Forum:

3pm

Spartan South Midlands League Division 1

Bedford 1 Cranfield United 3 att.13

£4 admission, including programme.

The visitors were 2 up inside a quarter of an hour, with Bedford replying with a penalty on 37 minutes.

It was 1-3 a minute before the break when a 40 yard free kick sailed over the keeper. The second half was a none event.

Bedford now play on the outside pitch at Biggleswade Town, which is on the right hand side as you enter the driveway. This was the 3rd match they have played here since March 5th, with 5 more games to go, all on Saturdays, before they return to their normal home next season.

The pitch is roped off through wooden stakes on 2 sides of the pitch only, with the other 2 sides inaccessible. There are 2 brick built dugouts on the right hand side as you look from the changing rooms.

Once again a tidy up of Step 1-6.

Over to Youngster for the usual slagging off and negative comments..........at least it takes his mind off his failed bid for the Northern League hop for a few seconds.

1 4 Kentish Town v Royston Town

A depressing report on this one from another's Forum:

3pm spartan south midlands premier

kentish town 1 royston town 4

att: 26 headcount, official 39

adm 5 prog 1 sausage bagel roll and burger 5

weird environment to watch football in and not really worth the 0.7 mile run from mill hill east tube station to get here, shocking level of football, i would happily say that liphook utd of hampshire prem would beat either of these!

helpful and friendly volunteers who sorted me out with a taxi number too..
