Fixtures & Results - Saturday 30 April

Sparatacus all about opinions and your's is perfectly valid. Padbury certainly had more possession and are very well set up with some top players but I honestly felt that keeper made more saves plus they cleared two off the line and had Naths effort gone in off the bar (and he had not had to go off) we could have got a result. Lots of if's I know and over the season and our three games they have bested us I've no problem saying that. I however would stop short of saying they were a class above. They will do very well next year and with the additions they are talking of making they will be right amongst it. We have another slog in div 2 to look forward too and must find the same ruthlessness and consistency as Padbury as on our day we'll turn anyone over.

A report from TK Forum//////////////////

SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE Division 2

Winslow United 0-2 Padbury United

Admission (including prog) £3.00 Barbecued cheeseburger £2.50

Various League officials in attendance to give Padbury the trophy (which for a Step 7 division was quite impressive) and winners' medals which might go some way to explaining why the bar didn't open until after kick-off and alcohol was forbidden beyond a certain point.

Padbury recovered well from their shock defeat on Monday, winning convincingly and celebrating their second which a huge bundle involving all their subs and bench. The protestations of two Winslow players earned them both yellow cards, though it serves them right for suggesting that the referee had joined inshocked.gif.

Rough head count - 90ish including what seemed to be Padbury's entire fan base. I can't say I'm really impressed with this "fashion" of displaying one's underwear which to me looks a bit gay and in some countries would more than likely have you arrested.mad.gif

Were you one of the above WB? ;)

A report on this affair from another's Forum:

Tring Corinthians 0 Risborough Rangers 1

Spartan South Midlands League.Division One

After visiting the superb Abertillery Bluebirds ground last night it was back to reality with a trip to Tring Corinthians very basic Icknield Way ground.

Its pleasant enough on a nice sunny day being tree lined on one side and a high hedge on the other side.

Typical end of season match with nothing at stake although it was played in a very sporting manor which makes a change! The visitors scored the only goal early in the second half in a match which wasnt helped by a rock hard pitch and strong crosswind.

No addmission or programme for 19 people present although food and drink were available from the tea bar.

Sorry Winslow boy but I disagree with the inference of your post. While I think Winslow would have been a top half of the table side if promoted you weren't that unlucky Saturday. I attended the match with my son an we both came away thinking that padbury fully deserved their win. Yes you did have some chances but so did Padbury to extend their lead and on the overall passages of play your opponents dominated possession and looked a class above you I'm afraid. However good luck and maybe you will still get promoted as the re- structuring of the divisions throws up all sorts of surprises.

Last comment on Padbury .... Talented and surprising well organised side but they don't stop moaning at the ref and each other and seem

to play on the edge all the time. I can see indiscipline costing them dearly next season

wonder y we did not got a single yellow card. before the tottenhoe game we did not get a single booking for 8 games

Valid point champ. I meant the type of indiscipline that sees a lack of concentration and arguing amongst yourselves. Your Asst manager certainly let one of your players 'have it' in no uncertain terms and i saw you putting your head in your hands a few times! Keep your team in check and you will challenge for the title. Good luck
