From the Didcot Town FC official site:

Didcot Town Football Club advise all other football and sports clubs to be aware if offered a Hayter three gang mower for purchase.

The mower (similar model as shown in the illustration) along with a grass strimmer was stolen from the football club last weekend.

The vehicle registration number is PX04 CXJ and the VIN number 924A001498.

If you are offered a mower of this type and are unsure of the validity of the vendor - please contact Didcot Town Football Club on 01235 813138 who will forward the information to Thames Valley Police

It would appear that this was a targeted robbery, as the machinery was in a double locked brick construction building, within a locked security fenced compound area, and not on public view. A large van or trailer would have been needed to transport it. We doubt there is any way you can stop determined thieves without having a security compound manned 24 hours a day. But it may be worthwhile all sports club's checking their security arrangements for grounds equipment, just in case
