Tamworth will certainly be up for it - their manager, Darron Gee, is quoted on the Nationwide website as saying that Saturday's match is 'the biggest we've had at this level so far'. Let's hope our players are in cup rather than league form on Saturday. grin.gif

However, Andy and the team will be the first to admit that with the win in place, the momentum needs to continue.

Of course, the momentum needs to continue but in all fairness our momentum away from home has been good since the first few games.

Its our home form that has been lacking. where we have struggled to break teams down and get in behind them. But I think we may have just found the man to do it.

Oli Oi, Oli Oi, Oli Oli Oli Oi Oi Oi !

He had everything today , touch , strength and most of all speed. Doesn't look as though he is a natural in front of goal tho, but he will unsettle defences and will create opportunities against the tightest of conference defences. lets hope he continues in the same rich vein of form on tuesday.

Oli, Oli, Oli , Oli - He's sh*t hot hot hot .

Indeed, Wobbly, Oli was very impressive today, especially given that he was a lone striker - he holds the ball up well and has a great turn of pace. However, we must keep things in perspective - he is only on a one-month loan spell. grin.gif

Still, a great performance today from us, with 4-5-1 working surprisingly well. Oli seems to prefer having the ball on the ground than in the air, and this helped us, as we were more willing to play passing football rather than just lumping it forward like we did last week. Also, the finishing was clinical, particularly Perkins' first, straight from a McKimm free-kick - goals like that from us from set pieces have been all too rare this season.

Wilko had a couple of saves to make, and Tamworth did hit the bar towards the end, but overall we were good value for the win - if the referee had allowed Owen's 'goal' in the first half instead of refusing to play the advantage and giving us a free-kick instead, the margin of victory could have been greater.

P.S. A nice gesture from the home support, applauding our players off at the end. grin.gif

They also gave them another round of applause when our lads came back out to warm down as well.

Seemed to take our lads a bit by suprise as they are not used to having a crowd that stays until the final whistle let alone beyond !!

Before you get too carried away with the sporting Tamworth fans look here

Well spotted...

It was obvious that their fans were trying to embarrass their players whom had been kept on the pitch by Darren Gee.

But from the ones that I spoke to, they were very generous to the team spirit and work effort that we displayed and just wished that their team had shown the same. Which I think is a point worth making to the guys and girls who only see our home games and have questioned our players commitment at times.
