The club are extremely pleased to announce that one of the greats of British boxing will be at the club on Friday 5th April as we host “An evening with John Conteh”.  It will be an absolutely fantastic evening.

Rated by Frank Warren as “Simply the very best” of all post-war british boxers, John competed from 1971 to 1980. He held the WBC light-heavyweight title from 1974 to 1978, and regionally the European, British and Commonwealth titles between 1973 and 1974. As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games. In 2017, Conteh was awarded an MBE for services to boxing at the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Since retirement he has been a tireless worker for charities.

His charismatic personality and quickfire scouse wit has made him a great favourite with after-dinner audiences – and we look forward to a memorable evening.

Ticket details will be announced soon.
