Over 100 photographs from Slough Town v Dunstable Town, in a 2016/2017 Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture on 4 February 2017, as was the case at Creasey Park earlier in the season Slough Town won 1-0 with a 52nd minute strike, coincidentally by the same scorer just two minutes earlier, the goal celebration is shown in the photograph below. A player from each side was unceremoniously dismissed later in the second period, Josh Oyinsan for Dunstable Town for swinging an arm into the face of an opponent which appeared to be un-intentional:

A different album of photographs to that posted earlier from Slough Town v Dunstable Town in a 2017/18 Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture, on 9 September 2017 which Slough Town won 8-1, the result flattered them with the score 1-1 at the break and Aaron Hudson equalising for Dunstable Town on 44 minutes, Slough netted three times in the last few minutes of the game in front of a surprisingly large attendance of 786:

Photographs and match report from Tiverton Town v Dunstable Town in a 2017/18 Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture on 10 March 2018 which Tiverton Town won 7-1 hammering another nail into Dunstable Town's coffin that season, sadly the Club finished rock bottom of the Premier Division and were relegated to the Southern League Division One Central:

This was quite an interesting thread at the time, going back to end of the 2016/17 campaign when Dunstable Town were still in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division and some of their games are pictured above, why on earth would the Club request a drop to Step 5 and the SSML Premier Division when they were playing at the heady heights of Step 3. As it turned out they remained in the Southern League Premier Division for another season (2017/18) when they finished bottom and were relegated to Division One Central and then relegated again in 2018/19 to the SSML Premier Division. Jonno made a good post at the time and that's arguably why the likes of Tring Athletic, Harefield United and London Colney aren't interested in promotion to Step 4:

I think a lot of clubs at Spartan level don't understand what it takes to run a club at the next level or so. A few volunteers on a Saturday and Tuesday is all very well and good, but the next level requires a professional and business like approach, not just a few old hands looking for a hobby. Needs to be run like a business, by people who understand the business.

Over 100 photographs from Dorchester Town v Dunstable Town, in a 2017/18 Evo Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture on Saturday 24 February 2018, resulting in a 1-1 stalemate, Dunstable Town were sadly wooden spoonists of the Premier Division that season and were relegated to the Southern League Division One Central. Dorchester took the lead on 33 minutes however Dunstable equalised on 51 minutes through substitute Charlie Black who cleverly lobbed the goalkeeper from some 25 yards out following a quick breakaway:

Surprise surprise folks, Dunstable Town v Dorchester Town again, this time at Creasey Park in a 2017/18 Evo Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture on Saturday 23 September 2017, Dorchester Town disappointingly won 1-0 however Dunstable Town could do very little right that relegation season and won just four league games, at home to Farnborough and Weymouth and on their travels at Banbury United and former SSML friends Biggleswade Town:

Photographs from St Neots Town v Dunstable Town in a 2017/18 Evo Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture, at St Neots Town's Rowley Park on Tuesday 10 October 2017, Dunstable Town got a creditable 2-2 draw however the writing was already very much on the wall as it was only the Club's fifth point of the league campaign thus far, a miserable run then followed of just one point from their next fourteen league games:

Just starting a thread on Dunstable Town that can be used in future. I see from the local Dunstable press yesterday that the Club's former defender, Peter Kioso, has signed professionally for Luton Town, he had been at Hartlepool United since leaving Creasey Park but caught the eye of scouts from Kenilworth Road who paid an undisclosed fee to Hartlepool for him, I'm not sure whether Dunstable Town will see any of that money. Creasey Park appears to be somewhat of a breeding ground for talent with Nick Hayes joining Norwich City and Nathan Harness joining Charlton Athletic recently, the Club have been under achieving for many years now and who can ever forget George Best turning out for them in 1974 under then Manager Barry Fry:

Thanks, I hadn't seen that footage before, Barry Fry looks the part doesn't he and facial hair seemed all the rage back then, I wonder whether Jeff Astle was still thinking about his miss four years earlier in Guadalajara against Brazil that would have got England a deserved draw. It's quite sad to see this photo of George in the Dunstable Town changing room with a beer after one of the three games he played for them:

Fortunately not the groundhopper guy, whatever his name is, as he was watching Amersham Town at Chalfont Wasps but YouTube highlights from the friendly last Tuesday (Tuesday 11 August 2020) at Creasey Park between Dunstable Town and Aston Clinton, Dunstable Town won 2-0 with second half strikes from Joe Hankins and Scott Fraser:

YouTube highlights and match report from Hayes & Yeading United v Dunstable Town on Saturday 27 August 2016 in an Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division fixture, Dunstable Town won 1-0 with a goal from Alex Cathline during a 2016/17 campaign where they were to finish 16th prior to the Club's sad decline and freefall of two relegations in as many seasons, culminating in their arrival back in the SSML last season:

I assume that the Dunstable Town Under 21 side are still going to be in the Surburban League Central Division this coming season, I gather that Leverstock Green have pulled their Reserve team out and Tring Athletic Reserves have moved to the Hertfordshire Senior County League so it's not surprising the League are currently looking for new blood:
