Just creating a new thread on Milton Keynes Irish until they no doubt change their name again, I have transferred over the previous threads relating to the merger and the Milton Keynes Robins one:

The old Milton Keynes Robins thread with links to Buckingham Town, who can forget their FA Cup First Round tie with Orient in 1984/85 when Ford Meadow was packed to the rafters, sadly their inspirational Manager at that time, Gary Knibbs, passed away last month:

With the draw later on today Milton Keynes Irish will make their FA Vase bow under the new name this coming season although Milton Keynes Robins and Unite MK have both participated in the competition previously. Buckingham Town obviously played in the FA Vase on numerous occasions reaching the Quarter Final stage in 1990/91 and 1992/93 as well as the Fifth Round four times. Wolverton Town participated in the FA Vase twelve times prior to the Club's sad demise in 1991/92 and after three brave attempts to reform in as many years as, firstly, Wolverton Town MK, secondly, Milton Keynes Wolverton Town and, thirdly, Wolverton. It was not until 2012/13 that a new Wolverton Town were formed and joined the SSML Division Two that season before changing their name to Unite MK for the 2016/17 campaign. The new Wolverton Town could not play in the FA Vase due to ground restrictions however on moving to the salubrious Manor Fields in 2016 Unite MK later enterered the competition, falling at the first hurdle at Leverstock Green in 2018/19 and again at Holyport last season. Following their takeover of Buckingham Town Milton Keynes Robins played in the FA Vase last season, losing to Eynesbury Rovers in a Second Round proper tie after beating Fleet Spurs and, impressively, Essex Senior League Hadley 2-0 at Brickfield Lane:

Milton Keynes Irish Reserves last three fixtures in the Uhlsport United Counties League Reserve Division, since beating Yaxley Reserves 2-0 in the opener, have been somewhat hit and miss, they narrowly beat Potton United Reserves 4-3 on 9 September having been 4-0 ahead and then proceeded to beat Bourne Town 6-1 on 12 September however last Saturday (19 September) they inexplicably lost 3-0 at Raunds Town Reserves who hadn't won previously, tomorrow evening sees a visit to Newport Pagnell Town Reserves. Meanwhile the First team started the season on Friday with a thumping 6-0 FA Vase First Qualifying Round win at Thame Rangers (see match report) following an extensive pre-season where the squad are clearly as fit as butchers dogs, tomorrow evening they entertain Ampthill Town in their first SSML Division One fixture of the campaign and then travel to Stotfold on Saturday, Terry Shrieves and Glyn Creaser will be a force to be reckoned with this season.

This evening's team sheet and match programme, just wondering why Terry Shrieves isn't in the dugout but perhaps he's sitting in the stand 'miked up' to Glyn Creaser:

What a dreadful night for Milton Keynes Irish on Tuesday (22 September) with the First team going down 5-3 to Ampthill Town and the Reserves losing 6-2 at Newport Pagnell Town Reserves in the Uhlsport United Counties League Reserve Division. Terry Shrieves must be worried about travelling to Stotfold on Saturday who are desperate for a win whilst the Reserves entertain Harborough Town Reserves who won 6-0 on Tuesday so they will be on a high at Manor Fields.

As anticipated Milton Keynes Irish Reserves found Harborough Town Reserves a little too lively for their liking on Saturday at Manor Fields in a Uhlsport United Counties League Reserve Division fixture going down 3-0 however it was a very young side and they will learn from the experience. The First team meanwhile drew 1-1 at Stotfold's New Roker Park but really should have taken all three points after a Stotfold player saw red just before the interval with the score still 0-0, Terry Shrieves men then proceeded to take the lead through Vinny Shrieves on 71 minutes only for Stotfold to equalise five minutes later following poor marking from a free kick. In Milton Keynes Irish's defence it was like the Alamo for the remainder of the game and nobody knows how Stotfold's rearguard, particularly superb goalkeeper Liam Gooch, managed to stand firm (see match reports). This evening (29 September) sees the First team travel to Rayners Lane whilst on Saturday (3 October) they welcome Amersham Town to Manor Fields, the Reserve side have no game on Saturday but entertain Wellingborough Whitworth Reserves on Tuesday 6 October:

Trust you to notice that, it's interesting though that Terry Shrieves wasn't in the technical area for the last home game against Ampthill Town which was why I thought he was sitting in the stand 'miked up' to Glyn Creaser. I see that you are on the Wembley v Crawley Green game on Saturday, that doesn't really set pulses racing does it.

A deluge of rain in London today may put the game in doubt.
I was at Wembley earlier in the week for their game against Harefield United and the pitch was in superb condition.

Winter, spring, summer or fall, it's the best playing surface in the SSML along with Eynesbury Rovers

Due to the postponement of their SSML Division One game with Amersham Town last Saturday (3 October) at Manor Fields, Milton Keynes Irish were all dressed up with knowhere whatsoever to go as their Reserve side had no fixture scheduled, just to make matters worse the Reserves Uhlsport United Counties League Reserve Division home game with Wellingborough Whitworth Reserves last night (Tuesday) was also called off. They try again this Saturday against Irchester United Reserves at Manor Fields having disappointingly lost their last three league fixtures, having won their first three of the new campaign with a 12-4 aggregate. The First team were very impressive in a 5-1 win at Rayners Lane on 29 September with goals from Rob McDonald, Mason Spence and a classy hat trick from Jack Clarkson, Terry Shrieves hopes to repeat that performance on Saturday when, coincidentally, he takes his men back to Tithe Farm to meet Broadfields United for an FA Vase Second Qualifying Round tie having won 6-0 at Thame Rangers in the First Qualifying Round, they then travel to Forde Park for a midweek league fixture with Langford on Wednesday (14 October). Milton Keynes Irish also have a side competing in the North Bucks & District League Intermediate Division playing under 'the pseudonym' of Milton Keynes Irish Athletic and they currently sit proudly on top of the table with three wins from four matches. Last Saturday they triumphed 5-0 at Tattenhoe and the previous week 9-3 at Deanshanger Athletic, this Saturday (10 October) they entertain Twyford United and I gather play home fixtures at the quaintly named Walnut Tree sports ground, previously used by Unite MK and not a million miles from Manor Fields.
