Enfield Town v St Albans

Recommended Posts

A little premature perhaps, but fans should buy tickets ASAP otherwise we could find ourselves outnumbered by the St Albans fans. Seems that anyone can buy a General Admission ticket, so this segregation might end up being a complete mess.

Permutations:

Town win = Guarantees survival for Town, St Albans not yet relegated even if Salisbury win at Weymouth.

Draw = Town 6pts clear meaning St Albans would have to win both remaining fixtures and hope Town lose both in order to stand a chance of survival (again depending upon Salisbury's results)

St Albans win = Town 3pts clear of St Albans with 2 games to play. You'd fancy St Albans to beat a fairly toothless Hemel at home, which would then set up a grandstand finish on the final day with St Albans favourites to survive with their superior goal difference.

Not sure what to make of this fixture now. St Albans are very short defensively but have a large number of forward options (Banton, Jeffers, Smith etc). From what their manager has said they will be 'going for it' from here on in. So it will be interesting to see how they set up, knowing that they really need a win - or a draw at worst.

You'd have to think that Gavin will stick with his tried and trusted formula - trying to stay solid and then play in behind for Dillon to get on to.

Unless you're a season ticket holder presumably?

Just a few thoughts regarding crowd control for the game. Segregation. How many tickets for away fans will be issued? How many tickets will be available to Town fans? Will the St Albans end be less full than the rest of the ground? The new seating stand structure has been erected but will probably nor be finished. This will take up a big section of the ground that cannot be used. Is the capacity being reduced because of this? The only benefit would be the stand could act as part of the segregation between the fans. Will the seats be taken out of the old stands behind the goal before the game? This would increase capacity a bit.

Is going to be uncomfortably congested and both sets of fans will be watching half the game from the wrong end. The atmosphere will be electric though if you can put up with all that.

Have heard that many rickets may already have gone to the away fans as the ticketing was not that clear on the website.

Shame that the new stand will not be ready.

Think it will be much like the playoff v Hornchurch where home and away were mixed.

Not sure segregation will work for this one....as St Albans fans have been buying home tickets.

Hopefully be a great atmosphere either way.

Why not contact the club and share the answers on here.

I'm assuming we'll have our highest ever home attendance for this one. Should be a great atmosphere. It already has the feel of a cup game. Looking at the two sides - I can't call it. You'd have to say that we're stronger than when we played them on New Year's Day, and with their recent departures/injuries to Woodman and Clarridge respectively, they certainly aren't any stronger at the back than they were when we last played. If we play as well as we can then we'll take home the points.

Anyone think Sam will try another Panenka if we get a penalty? (- assuming the score is anything other than 5-0 at the time!)
