Congratulations to t'lads on their 4-1 victory on Saturday.

A minor point, I should add, is that I see Canvey lost 3-2 on the weekend, 6 points behind with 3 games in hand.

Could be interesting, this one.

Canvey reserves are playing East Thurrock reserves on Tuesday, watch out for that one. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

There may have been one or two 'fringe' players in their side on Saturday, thought they would have been playing for a Trophy final place or at least the 100 points total. If they play like that in the Conference they'll get muurdered.

Thanks guys.

A good win ... dominated the first half and should really have been well in front but seemed to lack the killer instinct so we went in all square at half time. Leyton came back strongly during the second half and our defence needed to be at its best. When we took the lead through Josh Smith it looked like that would settle the outcome but a moments hesitation allowed Leyton to grab an equaliser and force extra time. Their cause was not helped when one of their players was dismissed for stamping on Adam Smith after he had been fouled.

As extra time started it was evident there would only be one outcome. We were much the fitter and stronger side, deserving to go through after a further goal from Josh and a brace from Ben Cogger.

Its been a good few days for the club, the first team performances have got better and 7 points from the last 3 games seems certain to gain a play off place and how many times has any club been able to say that they have beaten Canvey on consecutive weekends !!

So whilst the first team get the play off games to continue the excitement, the reserves have a cup final and the possibility of Canvey dropping 4 more points from 4 remaining games to enable us to win the league, providing we win our last game at home v Bowers on Saturday.

Could be an interesting last few weekends so lets all remain positive and get behind both teams. If we can achieve all the above I for one would be more than happy <img src="/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/elephant.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/elephant.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/elephant.gif" alt="" />

Cheers JKIF

Provisional final date for your diary ... and other interested parties

Saturday May 8th - St Albans City Reserves v Dagenham & Redbridge Reserves

Clarence Park, subject to play off dates / venues, kick off 3.00 pm.

Shame it could clash with the First Team play off games which will obviously effect support for both teams, but hey, how exciting <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
