Canvey 9 0 Three Bridges

YELLOW

Recommended Posts

A superb display tonight from a mixture of reserves, trialists and players who didn't feature in the Southend game.

Canvey tore apart Three Bridges and the score could have been 15 but for some inspired keeping and bad finishing.

So many plus points tonight. Ahmed Mo (I'm not even going to try and spell his name) looked very good indeed. Opened the scoring with a finely taken effort and supplied Ollie Berquez with his first goal with a great pass.

Greg Lincoln looked good in the midfield, battling hard and passing the ball well.

Dobbo scored two fine goals. The first a superb first time volley from some 25 yards that dipped and curled at the last minute into the top corner and the other a volley a la Greggors at the far post that threatened to break the net.

Parms scored twice the second a great low driven shot from outside the area.

Nice to see some of the young reserves come on and do well. Jason Hallett came on and scored and Leon Gordon also notched an effort.

Chris Bourne came on, on the left for the last 15 minutes and looked very talented, showing good skill, pace and one or two good crosses and shots.

A good work out and certainly a few will be staking a place for a first team shirt.

For the record goalscorers were: Ahmed Mo, Berquez (2), Parmenter (2), Dobinson (2), Hallett, Gordon.

Great result! Good to see some of the non-first team regulars playing. And still whipping them! I have really high hopes for the conference this year judging from the Hull and Southend games!

It's a shame that Dobbo still hasn't made a first team place even though he's proved that he's clearly capable of it!

I'm thinking if Canvey signed up Ahmed Mo' what would he have on his shirt? I suppose it would have to be Ahmed's first name like Junior's?

Had a look at Greg's stats on Championship Manager seems he's only about 24 at the minute and plays on the right of Midfield.

If we signed all our Trialists we'd have a Squad or about 30 wouldn't we?!

An interesting line up to say the least. The workrate and the commitment was apparent from the begining - boy is it going to be competetive getting into the first team this year. I thought Parms was excellent in all that he did especially his talking to and supoporting other players. I think Dobbo hit two of the best strikes we are likely to see down the Lane this year, the second was truly superb.

Fair do to Three Bridges - they kept on trying right to the end.

was a fun game, the 3 bridges keeper (the first one, not the second who couldn't catch a cold) kept them well in it. they done themselves proud never giving up and never resorting to hacking through our players (same some league sides couldn't have the same control) when faced with a far superior team with a bit of a point to prove. enjoyable watch just a shame we didn't see 10, double figures are always nice.

p.s. was it me or did ahmed seem to enjoy himself quite alot, lets see him against a stronger team and then sign him up

Don't believe everything you read on Championship Manager.....according to that Gavin Cowan is a forward and Ollie is only 16. :-)

Very true. Also Steve Parmenter's position changes every time I load up the game, although I've set Gav as a Defender and given Ollie a proper age now

It's always Gregory, Minton & Gooden that get the little stars next to their names and when they have an off season it changes to Bennett, (if you still have him) or Potter!!

this was on the 'confguide' site ..

A new "Sports Interactive Conference Managers' Game" will be marketed. This computer game will include all Conference teams, including the North and South divisions, so you will be able to "manage" your club and guide them to the lofty heights of the English game. Each club will have 100 sets of the game to sell; it is likely to cost something less than £34.99.
