Chelmsford Chieftans - Ice Hockey.,

Recommended Posts

Being someone who likes a bit of Ice Hockey and that Chelmsford Chieftans play on Sunday, went out and checked their home games (Sunday nights puck off at 6.30pm, cool as it can never clash with Braintree Town F.c)

Sunday 5th Sept - Cup at home to Romford

Sunday 12th Sept - League at home to Peterborough

Sunday 19th Sept - Cup at home to Slough

Sunday 26th Sept - League at home to Wightlink

Smashing bodies up against the panels, good sunday night fun. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I used to go and watch Romford Raiders the 1st time they formed, used to follow them to Lee Valley, Chelmsford and Bracknell.

Then a few years ago I used to go to all the London Knights games at the London Arena.

It used to be a good early Sunday evening's entertainment, would highly recommend it.

Mr Flag,

I won't be going to the away game because I will have moved by then, but the day Braintree visit us the Jets are at home to Chelmsford.

If you want to stay on after the footy and go to the Hangar to see the hockey drop me a PM.

Nigel D,

I watched a few Knights games, the action that stands out was any fight involving Dave 'The Moose' Morrisette.

That sounds perfect, but we have just set up a mini bus for Braintree Town Supporters away travel and Steve Pitts will drive to games, to allow Steve to have a drink after the game I will have to stay sober and be the designated driver home to take our boys back.

I will defineately be at the Slough v Braintree game but would not be able to stay over night unless I can find someone willing to drive back.

I will make some enquiries at the U18's game tonight and see if we can get an alternative driver home from the game as it sounds too good an oppo to miss.

If I can i will send you a pm,

Cheers,

Mark.

I enjoy going and watching my local team,Haringey Greyhounds, but my press duties for Enfield Town Ladies FC make it awkward to make the games.

A few other Towners go regular to the Greyhounds.

Like Nige, I used to follow Romford [Ram] Raiders a few years back, during the days of Tari Sawari smashing everyone up!

Oooh, and those derbies against Chelmsford were HOT!

Keep meaning to go back over there on Sundays, but was put off last year when found out that a fire at the rink had caused disruption.

P'raps I'll catch up with ya' at Chelmsford or Romford then Mark...for obvious reasons I can't make September!

Dedworth, the moose was the biz I agree, you can't beat a bit of aggro on the rink, saying that we (Romford) used to take loads to Bracknell and there was always a "Heated" rivalry atmosphere in the stands between the two sets of supporters whenever we met!

Maladroit, that's when I used to go, when old Tari was playing.

The Jets always had a good rivalry with Romford.

An unexpected 3-3 draw at their rink in the playoffs cost us promotion to the then premier league. 91-92 I think.

We got promoted the following year in the last season before the Superleague ruined the game. Had the likes of Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham coming to our little rink.

It was good stuff back then when teams were limited to 3 imports.
