I was told Ruislip or Hoddesdon away? dug deep last night but you would have laughed the Ref and one Lino got to the game 20 to 8 both African and our Manager fined them both for not warming up.They made so many mistakes it was like having laurel and hardy but the best one was the VCD number 8 fouling a Manor player the 8 was already booked and was a white man the ref booked no. 9 who was black and then said because the foul was committed he had to book someone and no. 9 would do,talk about a laugh?

The lads dug deep last night on what can only be described as a poor park pitch with lights, not VCD's fault as they ground share with Lordswood. one interesting point from last night, the VCD management seemed to think that the Kent league were going to merge with the ESL next season, interesting if it happens.

What an interesting comment allegedly from the VCD management - I wonder how many folk are going to pick this one up as it has been ongoing for a couple of seasons - it seems to me there is an overwhelming problem and that is the Kent League have 15/16 ? clubs and we have 15, that is 30/31 and the F A insist on no more than 22 in a League so if anyone has any bright ideas it could be a very informative thread !

Very interesting re FA ruling on 22 teams maximum. How do the Combined Counties get away with 24 every season then?

Regarding an ESL/KSL merger.

I mooted this in a thread quite some while ago with the West Kent border sides joining up with the Sussex League and northern fringe ESL sides to the Spartan/South Midlands.

Whatever we conject however will probably bear no relation to what the FA come up with when they reduce the 15 level 5 leagues to 12 for the 2005/6 season.

Does anyone have access to an accurate crystal ball for this reorganisation.

But the FA intend to whether you like it or not Hookey so you'd better get used to the idea!

And, in any case, aren't you fed up with a 15/16 team ESL season after season - I am.

Most of the posts I've read this season on the subject seem to concur on that point.

Fed up with the ESL? Not really Twinkletoes. I'm not averse to change or freshening up the competition. I just don't fancy trying to get down to Herne Bay for a 7:45 ko on a wet Tuesday evening.

You say the FA are planning to do it, yet all I've heard is rumour and conjecture, mostly from clubs south of the Rio Grande.

Quote:
Then how about evening fixtures in your own county and Saturday ones inter-county if the split is more or less 50/50.

Does that sound more reasonable given the co-operation of the fixture secretary.

Sounds like a plan. Which brings us back to the point "Senior Leaguer" made regarding the number of teams allowed in a League/Division. They would have to either spread some of the clubs across other "local" leagues, or create two divisions, Prem and 1st. The latter option would in effect mean clubs dropping down a level within the pyramid. Which way do you see it going.

Some thoughts on the matter...

Call me finicky if you will, but I can't help noticing that in any discussion of Kent and Essex there is the small matter of the River Thames in the way. I thought the idea of the all the re-organization was to get some logic into the system?

Secondly, if there is a bloody silly idea put forward, it's a dead cert that the FA will go for it.

But if you're going to have two divisions (fine in itself) why do they have be called the Premier and First Divisions? Just so as not to hurt anyone's feelings? What's wrong with the good old idea of Divisions 1 and 2? Look at the total farce in the Football League - I went to see a game on Sunday in what used to be Football League Division 3. I actually saw a game in League 1!
