Absolutely right..........and we are pushing them to come and watch but they don't seem to care. We advertise around the town more now than we ever did but our man who puts up the posters tells the club its hard to get the shops even to do that! We make sure the papers get reports regular as well but it's not working.......we will persevere, after all it would be a shame for the townsfolk to miss out on our first chamionship since 79 wouldn't it!!!!

Oh and we have 2 turnstiles, just that one is in store!!!

Yeah, we have done the same mate. But at least we can get our posters up. The local shops seem quite happy to go along with the idea. But it still peeves to see all these kids wandering aimlessly around Romford on a Saturday afternoon (well I don't actually see them as I am at the game, but you get my drift, eh?) when they could be watching us for nothing. No disrespect, but Romford is a far bigger catchment area than Wabbey and we should be attracting more.

Don't despair guys. The avarage attendances at Step 4 (and above) aren't much bigger at a lot of clubs.

OK it's an old chestnut but to my mind it is such a shame to see kids in the south wandering around in Man Utd, Liverpool or Newcastle shirts (depending on who is successful at the time) and only watching football on the telly when they can go and see a great game a their local club, and have some real pride in THEIR club. With present prices most kids now can't afford to see a premiership game live anyway.

I remember much excitement I got as a kid watching Enfield, and then in turn taking the Invisible Kids to Southbury Road. When I was about 14 I could afford to go Spurs home AND many away games on the wgaes from a paper round - no chance of that now. So somehow we have to try and benefit from that by attracting the kids to the non-league game.

Not sure that's enough to survive at the next level. After a fantastic start to their season, the good folk of Waltham Abbey don't seem to be responding at the turnstiles

they may not be coming trough the turnstiles but they are certainly helping by watering the pitch.

WA remain in the driving seat, it is still their title to throw.

Good point my man....our poster man tells me there at at least 17 around the Town, must get a list and check up!!!

As for the entrance we've had 2 volunteers to do that job this season and not one notice has gone up!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Its such a ball ache, a simple job for one person becomes a chore if your doing loads of others.........nice to meet you Sat!!!

I'll try not to be objectionable in the future!! Mind you the forums lit up yesterday from what I can see!!!
