End of season

Does anyone know if there is a date by which ESL league fixtures must be completed?

In the old days all fixtures had to be completed by the FA Cup final, don't know if that's still the case.

At the last League meeting, the Fixture Secretary announced that the last League game will need to be on 23rd April 2005 instead of the 30th at the behest of the F A who requested same from every Step 5 league in order to arrange the "play-offs".

The only thing is that we still await news from the FA on how these will be played ! These possible changes mean that the League Cup Final date has still to be arranged. It is normally the very last game and played on May Monday but we shall have to wait and see what the F A have in store for us before we set a date - maybe it will the Cup Final that is the last game, i.e. on 23rd - Watch this space !

Wont make much difference to the ESL clubs I would think.

 

Most of us will have run out of fixtures well before that.

 

Wouldn't have done if we had played three league fixtures each though.

Hang on a moment...this is a league where the officials ask the clubs when they wish to play...and do not come clean re replayed games viz a viz alleged suspended players. A simple answer would surely clear things up, no?

With only one club being accepted for the playoffs at the most it is my intention to arrange some finger twiddling classes for all the other redundant players who will be looking for something energetic to do to keep their fitness levels up until the start of the 2005/06 season.
