I always rated him he made a couple of major errors but dont all keepers?

Yes we do. Handling cam be dodgy at times but I saw him at woking a few seasons back and he won the match for us whilst as i recall JK was sent off. Good keeper.

Look pall i am a keeper. All be it not at that level but ive been doing it long enough to know that at this level, he would be ok. Im not saying he's perfect but lets face it. He's better than trego. With respect you people that havn't actually done it havn't got a clue.

We will have to "lose"players before we gain any new ones. Stadhart would be more of a loss than clarke imo as he will be harder to replace i.e goals and work rate. Would not be sorry to see Trego go as we need a bigger more commanding keeper and although he is big I'm not sure re-signing Mitten would be the answer.

Charlie Mitten was a good signing. His dominance in the air would counter-balance our weaknesses in defence with those high balls. Hopefully CK will have learnt from last year and sort that problem out,should he get the opportunity. What about Lee Turner? Has he hung his boots up yet? Another great keeper i.m.o.

although it is probably his standard as he was never very good - and i have played in goal to a reasonable standard.

agree about lee turner a very sound all round keeper i think he was 34 when he left us

Lee Turner is over 40 and goalkeeping coach at Southend, he was on the pitch celebrating when they won the LDV and the play off finals at Cardiff. Mitten is a better keeper than Trego.

Trego would get my vote over Mitten all day long.

 

Wish PT was a couple of inches taller as is weak on crosses when challenged and long high shots;but if defence was better and better in air he would have more protection.

 

PT is a decent shot stopper-just wish he was not so flash and did not stray to edge of 18 yad box so much-surprised he was not lobbed more last season but think he had alot of narrow squeaks that could have made him look really stupid.

 

Apart from that he's perfect really !!

 

However-'better the devil you know' and he will be alright.

 

Will he stay-doubt it because of distance but hope he does.

 

I still think Scott Ward was a decent keeper and it was the defence that was and still is poor(Smith apart).

Agree with MM would select trego over mitten 4 out of 5 times is just the trego mad moments that worry me but beggers cant be chosers we will have to see who has stayed and who has gone if trego has left and we could get mitten i wouldnt grumble.

Excepting over close season whencontracts end and are renewed for new season(as per Sam sodge) know one else comes to mind

He watched a 'Gate friendly at Tonbridge as a spectator (had no contact with CK even though he was standing behind the dugout) and wasn't re-signed until September.
