I'm certain that no-one from 'up here' wants any trouble with you lot, 60 or 600, 'down there', chaps. The suggestion from Rob the Saint, not known as a hooligan on the terraces at Fortress Clarence Park, that you should lock up your daughters, was inmtended to be part of the jovial banter between fans of opposing clubs, rather than to be taken literally, I have no doubt.

The only problem that I foresee is that bl00dy woman who insists on telephoning her match report to the local rag in episodes every 15 minutes at full volume from the main stand. I don't want to watch the game in silence for a moment but a verbal action replay echoing around the stand half a dozen times during the game is more than a little disconcerting. There could be trouble to the extent that I may have to stand up and shout across 15 rows of seats "The cross came in from Walshe, not Hann. And the header was from Lee Clarke, not Paul Hakim. And your keeper is Wayne Shaw not Scott Tarr. Get a grip and pay attention to the game you stupid local hack you. And turn the volume down. If I want a commentary, I'll tune in to Radio Solent rather than listen to you. Why aren't you at home doing the ironing? No sugar in my coffee, thanks all the same."

Anyway, chaps. Wayne Shaw and the joys of the Schatt Stadium.

How are 'things' down there? Has the Chairman finally gone? Is the groundsman still dispensing the prawn sandwiches in the boardroom on matchdays?

Quite right, AFF. The little <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> at the end of my mesage was clearly not noticed by some. Though I have been known to turn nasty if I have to wait at the bar for more than 5 minutes.

The Eastleigh folk sound a decent bunch and I'm sure we'll enjoy some friendly banter. I just hope Dan hasn't been shirking his drumming lessons...
