TC I'm not having a pop, you're in the same position as CCFC. Without an Investor you can't kick-on and improve.

 

All you were doing was looking out for your club and making the enquiry, which is fantastic.

My view is this (and its fact not BBB)

 

If JK is out in the market looking for somewhere to invest his time/money then football is a market place. He is a successful businessman and will go where he sees the most potential.

 

Ricay are an established club with average support of 600ish and they will get maybe 2 or 3 1000+ gates a season. Is there potential for a better ground and a bigger fanbase.??? maybe but not a significant amount.

 

What does he see at chelmsford?? A ground that wouldnt take much to make it a conf standard ground. Crowds?? 3,000 on Jan 2nd <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> , then 6 more 1000+ crowds including a monday night essex senior cup tie. This from a mid table side and we all know success attracts crowds.

 

He has seen the potential and decided he likes what he sees. Thats no slur against TC or anyone who might have had a chat with JK. Its business after all.

Council permitting...at the mo, they (the council) appear to choke when they mention that there is a football club sharing the Athltics ground...

Sean, i can personally understand why JK would invest in chelmo, and as you know i believe you will probably improve on this seasons position.

 

what i dont like is the way some of your fans are now claiming to be a better side than us already.

you may have beaten us twice last year but we still came above you.

 

january time you were all saying our necks would be aching look up at you at the end of the season...we proved you wrong.

 

i just ask your fans to stop boasting before we even know who is in the league next year

Planning permision has already been granted to build another stand to replace the smaller stand on the athletics side. This was granted at the time of the original new build. There is also permision to build a floodlight astro pitch and another turfed floodlight pitch on the playing fields at MP. This is obviously dependant upon funding.

as i said in my previous post..just cos i think you will improve your position...it may only be by a couple of places, you may be fighting for a playoff place next year.

 

one thing you need in this league is stability....

we saw it 6/7 years ago when we had 5/6 first team players in and out every season. it got us no where.

 

now as much as our final positioning this year was lower than the year before, we only just missed out on the playoffs, we have a majoirty of our eleven on contracts for next year, so we wont have to release as many players, we will more have to improve our squad.

thats what banter is all about between rivals and although we havent been in the same division for too long it does appear that yours is the first result we all look for hoping you have lost and vice versa probably.

 

That doesnt mean we dont have any respect for TC or how your club is run...i mean even i admitted that gazza is one of the better announcers. at least you can hear him !!

 

past tense tom. we are very excited about the future as im sure you all are.

 

Just dont wear that Ricay shirt if you watch any games in the clubhouse !!

Id guess the three bigger Essex Ryman clubs all have potential to expand - Braintree is a growing area, Billericay have the Bas Vegas market to tap into and Chelmsford should, with the catchment area be a few divisions higher. I guess with decent management all three clubs will grow and travel up the league pyramid.

I think Chelmsford as a town could sustain league football but we struggle to win over the once a season Man Utd, Le [****!!****], Chelski etc fans.
