King for Chelmo

Recommended Posts

Kingy, I don't think its as simple as that. Underperforming players being replaced by JK at will. I'm sure his not short of a bob or two but I doubt he will throw money away at will especially if his made big investments in players. There's so many if's, buts and maybe's that BC is right to hold off and wait n see...

One things for certain though if Chelmsford give it like this when finishing midtable what will they be like if 10 points clear in 6 months!!!

I think Ricay will have to close the forum!

I was just at the Canvey Island meeting to plan the way forward.

A statement was made on behalf of Jeff King.

He has not yet signed any deal with Chelmsford, it is however his intention that he will do so soon.

He will "definetly not be putting any money into CCFC, he will however be working for free", there was loads more but to be honest, I am saddened for them and do not want to be all doom and gloom.

I wish them the best of luck, from what I have heard tonight they will need it.

Jeez the loons have taken over the asylum ,Sean you should know better after last seasons slating of Edingburgh.

Noone really knows the SP until some official announcement is made , to claim next seasons title is ludicrous imo.

You will look a tad silly if King does not come or comes minus the players/cash.

Personally I remain unconvinced that it is a good thing.

Dill, I would agree with you...buying success is okay for the short term but when the money man goes, clubs usually just free fall (altho, I would agree the ride up must be quite good...Rushden must be disliking the ride down).

Our previous manager and us got caught by that one. Perhaps I shouldn't have quoted him but at the time, after coming second, perhaps we all thought the same way but didn't want to as brazen as Justin...As it was, performances were certainly not of a championship level.

But still, please don't discourage your "friends" for going "Bertie", it's quite amusing, despite the hysterical tone of their posts...will be even more amusing should Chelmsford fail...as yes, we will laugh so...may even put a few signs up and ask the editor of the Essex Chronicle to join us on the forum...

Geez......multiple extracations of tongues from cheeks in the chelmsford area last night.

No-one thinks for a minute then any team can waltz through this division the way we had joked.

Yes we would have a better chance than most if we picked up the right players but we were only having a laugh !!

The money will probably be down when the odds are released (but then it is every season) but ive seen enough from the likes Heybridge, AFC Wimbledon, Ricay (ouch that hurts) and the loser of Fish/Wimbledon, Bromley (have money and finished well), and thats without the teams coming down.

They often call tricky world cup groups "groups of death" and that sums up next seasons Ryman Prem.

It does indeed sean. I believe that the clubs who "should" have a look in are Heybridge (if they continue the funding), Staines, Dover, Ramesgate, Chelmsford, AFC Wimbledon, Margate and us...

...but that nothing is a given. Lets just wait, enjoy the close season and see what the new season brings.

But you said sean that you will be champions 2006/2007. Funny how comments can steam roll into a disadvantageous position. Afterall we found that out early doors last season

I get bored of saying this, King will officially be putting no money in, thats the deal, but he will be pumping it in big style.

Do you really think a man like Jeff King will stand on the sidelines in the Ryman Prem and let a team of his get beat due to an average budget.

He just wants people to think he is a good manager and CCFC going up is nothing to do with money.

wow! sensible posts on this thread! a shocker!!!

i am dubious of the whole situation, especially the way things seem to be winding up at canvey. but i do trust our board to do whats right for the club.

as for the title next year? i dont care how many canvey players we are supposedly getting or how much money king pumps in, i still think we would have had a better chance with CE in charge and by retaining the nucleus of players we have from this season.

TC not at all, just trying to put the rods away for a day or so

Tom I still believe that we will sign the majority of the current canvey first team.
