Windsor & Eton F.C. Appoints New Manager.

Chairman Peter Simpson enthusiastically announced today the appointment of Simon Lane as the new Manager of Windsor & Eton F.C.

Simon’s appointment was finally agreed by the Board late yesterday evening, which marked the end of an exhaustive search and interview process that has taken place over the last month.

The club received in excess of 20 applications for the position, even though it was never formally advertised and Simon was finally chosen from a long list of exceptional candidates.

Simon who is 38 years old, comes to the club from AFC Wimbledon where he was Club Scout following a period as Manager of Berkhamstead Town.

Prior to this he was Youth Development Officer at Queens Park Rangers and Head Coach at Naxxar Lions F.C. in the Maltese Premier League, during which time he was the youngest serving Head Coach in European Premier League football.

He holds both the UEFA A Coaching Licence and the FA Advanced Licence Coaching Award – one of the highest awards that the FA can bestow.

Outside of football Simon holds a Senior Management position in Industry.

Chairman Peter Simpson commented:

‘Simon demonstrates an excellent mix of exceptional coaching qualifications and experience. We were also struck by the way that he manages himself as a person and by his highly evolved range of management skills.’

For further information please contact Peter Simpon on: 01753 851133.

Ends.

On paper a fine appointment, lets hope he lives up to it on the pitch.

Looks like we have something to look forward to next season with hopefully some well structured football and success.

Good luck to the new management team

Good qualifications.

Let's hope he can sort out the off the pitch side of things better than the old management side and hopefully on the pitch success will follow!

Simon Lane's Red and Green army will take some getting used to mind!

Potentially very good for you as his early tenure at Berko was good. Just glad you didn't look to the past and Greeno which could have been disasterous. Hope you all give Simon Lane your backing and I'll be monitoring his progress with interest

Are the two reserve team managers being kept on ? They have been brilliant, we need to keep them, if we can. Did they put in for first team job ?
