Gavin - Thanks for that, yes very much so and that's where I have got the upper hand on Hoddesdon Town and their 'War and Peace' programme, I will earn some extra brownie points from the judges when the time comes. Paula - Hi love, where you been this morning or shouldn't I ask, I thought you were pretty good at IT stuff, as Gavin said even I managed it so perhaps I should give you some lessons when I next come round for a game of scrabble. As you can see it was a nice place we played at yesterday, plenty of quiet country lanes and woods for people who enjoy the great outdoors, know what I mean.

I fyou read my message Rhodes you would know what i'd been upto <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Maybe we'll have to go along there then Rhodes - for a spot of dog walking. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />
I don't mind driving - love country lanes and woods. Good for my 4 x 4. Nice bit of off roading!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Lato - Worth the wait I hope, I managed to give a mention to our new former Nigerian International Coach Clement Temile:

Town travelled to leafy Stony Stratford Town in Buckinghamshire for their first league fixture of the long 2006/2007 campaign ahead, Stratford finished last term in a lofty third position having beaten Town 4-0 in the corresponding fixture so Manager Frank Zanre and new Coach Clement Temile knew they would be in for a difficult afternoon. Town started the proceedings in a positive fashion and gave as good as they got early on against a well drilled side with a lot of height, Daniel Young had a speculative shot that sailed just over the crossbar. On the 23 minute mark however Town found themselves behind following some good work down the left hand side and the resulting cross was put into the net by Barry Bellhouse at the far post when the Town defence failed to clear their lines. To their great credit Town regrouped and equalised two minutes later when Lee Scott was in the right place at the right time to convert from long range with the ball skimming off a damp surface.

Shaka Cole found his way into the book of a somewhat pernickety Referee and Town then got off lightly when a deep cross from a vulnerable left side was met by a firm header from close range that thundered against the crossbar with Town keeper James Noonan beaten. Town missed a golden opportunity to take the lead just before the interval when a ball was threaded through an eye of a needle to Daryl Malcolm who hit the side netting when he may well have done better. Just before the interval Town's vocal central defender and man mountain Aaron Hutchins saw yellow along with a player from the opposition. Town returned to the changing rooms well satisfied with their work in the first 45 minutes and were unlucky not to be ahead, former Nigerian International player and new Club Coach Clement Temile appeared delighted with his players commitment and the second period started in a similar vein with Town having the lions share of the play. The game changed however on the 53 minute mark when the home side were awarded a free kick outside the penalty area for a harsh handball when Young appeared to take the ball down with a shoulder. From the resulting kick a carefully rehearsed training ground move resulted in Stratford's Dom Marsala being left in the clear to fire home from close range. Five minutes later Stratford made it 3-1 when a high bounce deceived Town keeper Noonan who could only parry the ball out to Kevin Hyde who was left unmarked to loop the ball cleverly home. With half an hour of play still remaining Town knew that all was not lost and some good work from goalscorer Scott resulted in a long range effort that was comfortably held by the home keeper. Disaster then struck for Town when Hutchins was adjudged to have committed a second bookable offence and Referee Mr Henry brandished the red card much to the players disappointment as he trudged head bowed to the dug out. Two late substitutions for Town that saw Daniel Quattromini and Robert Pattwell enter the fray did not have any impact, indeed very little was created following the dismissal of Hutchins with a competent Stratford side more than happy to hold out for their somewhat fortunate 3-1 victory. Town Team: Noonan, B McMullen, R Quattromini, T McMullen, Hutchins, Cole, Young, Zanre, Karnaris, Scott, Malcolm. Subs: Pattwell, D Quattromini

Is that a freudian slip of the keyboard Rhodes?

I thought the sending off was pivotal or at least that was the suggestion you made, not when the game was over. Still a good read despite the result.

What happened to Mr Charlery, the scorer of the "wonder" goal at our place on Tues?

Lato - You're as observant as ever, fair play, that's two years of penning Haringey Borough reports for you. I didn't want to make too much of the sending off incase some people thought it was sour grapes. Horace - Sadly Mr Chalery wasn't available yesterday so we were somewhat lacking upfront, we would have no doubt won with him in the team to finish off a number of good opportunities. Potters Bar Town - Yes I thought someone would enjoy the word 'pernickety'. Hey thanks for all the interest guys, I'm taken aback!

Rhodes can I just say that your favourite players are shocking!

Glen Shurety?

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

How come Takumi isnt down?

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

If you are going to have players from Haringey then you should have Looney from Kentish Town, he is quality!

Rak - Yes I will be amending my list to include Takumi and Looney but will keep Glenn, I got on well with him even if Julian didn't. I also want to get an avatar but not sure how to get it up, perhaps Paula will help me, get the avatar up I mean. Your picture is very good, you'll have Paula after you if you're not careful as she's more your age, I thought I recognised OneClub in the bar yesterday but when I went up to him asking whether he was the guy on here he didn't have a clue what I was on about.

Forget what Julian thinks of Glen, I can assure you I genuinly think he is one of the worst players I have ever played with!

Shocking, I like the other 3 on your list though.

Is favourite suppose to be players you get on with, or players who are good / enjoyable to watch?

Rak - Lol, both, anyway I get on with everyone, you should know that by now! What didn't you like about Glenn, I thought his commitment was good both in the tackle and you could always rely on him to show up and on time, you could set your watch by him infact.

he had won more games in a haringey borough shirt than you ever did!

Sorry thats bizarre, is that post aimed at me?

I just found his lack of ability to pass a ball to a team mate over 10 yards a problem. As well as not having a clue what to do when on a football pitch.

On top of the above he was also one of the biggest trouble starters (for no apparent reason) and acted like a prat on a regular basis.

Anyway enough said now.

Folks - Can anyone who intends coming to our game with Brache Sparta tonight note that it is taking place at Wembley FC and not Hendon, there is a problem with the hallowed Claremont Road surface. Wembley's pitch is supposedly one of the best in the country which will suit our style of play, ie Brazil 1970, down to the ground. I'm off to the game now so I'll get back to you later with the result, if there's a computer at Wembley I'll log on and let you know sooner rather than later as I know you'll all be chomping at the bit to hear.
