Press wars!!!!!

"Apparently" it all kicked off today between the Reporter and the Messenger. The club give away the Reporter in that little stand next to the bar entrance while the guys from the messenger make an effort to sell there’s to fans.

"I heard" that today the guy from the Messenger got so p'eed off with the Reporter giving there’s away that he picked them all up and threw them in the skip. The Reporter bloke obviously took exception to this and when he saw what was going on went flying out of the bar and demanded the guy take them out. He then had to climb in to the skip to take them all out. Anyone see it?

Not me. Best place for the Reporter is in the skip.

Considering they still sponsor the club and advertise, and have done for more years than you've probably been watching the Fleet, isn't that a little harsh?

Great that the club have a deal with KM too, but time will tell how it pans out. Regardless, slagging a loyal club advertiser and supporter... would you do it with any other company that pays money into this club?

I think there is bad blood between the two (which is a bit obvious with the start of this thread) but from our point of view this can only be a good thing. Two local "rags" wanting to have dealings with us and when one loses it's place as head Media partner it's good to see that they're gutted. The real "trash" is the News Shopper, they'd tell Charlton that their sh*t didn't stink if they asked them. Plus the Reporter have the best bit of writing that you will find about this club in Ed Millers column.

The Reporter did themselves no favours when they appointed Melody Ryall as editor.

She appears to know bu**er all about football, but was only too quick to jump onto the "Gillingham out" bandwagon.

Both Chas and Ed remain highly respected (if a tad biased) reporters, it is yet to be seen whether the Messenger can rise to those same heady heights.

We must hope so.

Firstly, the reporters tons better than the messenger.

So you'd rather they said nothing like the messenger and seem ok with the idea that the gills move to gravesend?
