Bringing Ameobi (I think) down on the edge of the box. Right decision, I thought, despite Andy Gray's opinion to the contrary.

I can't see how Andy Gray could argue with the decision, since he (the 'keeper, not the pundit) came charging out of his box and brought the striker down whilst getting nowhere near the ball. A 'stone-waller' if ever I saw one...

Don't know why we are debating this on the GNFC Forum but here is my view, if you watch the replay, you will see Ameobi is already falling before Carlo even makes contact, if he was staying on his feet and was brought down, which is what the ref probably saw, then he has no option but to send him off. But he was already falling over so somewhat harsh on Carlo.

So what the game was played after the pitch had to be cleared twice of snow, we went into the game with injury worries, we had Tiago who is lazy and doesn't bring any creativity to our midfield, we then had to make mass substitutions, our left back gets hacked down and were forced to play on with ten men, Duff then gets injured but plays on anyway as does Gallas, we have Barca on wednesday and a Cup Final next sunday and then our goalkeeper gets sent off wrongly and our reight back is forced to play in goal.

And after all that somebody finally managed to beat us.

Question is why can't both of my teams win on the same weekend?

And anyway why send Carlo off? The game was over the Chelsea bench were only concerened about Duff and we weren't going to win so the idiot ref should have used commen sense and let Carlo stay on.

Now he miss' the final, aww shame I hear you cry but look at things from his point of view. Does wonderful at Chelsea and is the best goalkeeper in the league for two years, could walk into any team in the country including Arsenal and Man Utd only to be replaced by some bloke who only conceades 8 goals in 27 games.

You have to ask yourself if it had been the same situation at Old Trafford and it had have been Roy Carrol would he have gone off?

Anyway I just feel sorry for Liverpool, there never going to score against Cech.

Rules is rules, Harry. Whatever the circumstances or timing of the incident.

Even Liverpool should have no bother against the likes of Smertin, 'Barn Door' Kezman and Joe Cole... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hahaha ask Liverpool about Joe Cole. Of the bench to score a goal twice this season.

Only trouble is last time we beat a team 1-0 twice in a season with the same scorer gettin both goals was in 93-94. Gavin Peacock against Man Utd. They went and beat us 4-0 in the Cup final. Peacock hit the bar......

And as for why Carlo got sent off then can somebody tell me why Paul Scholls wasn't sent off playing against Chelsea last season? Becuase the ref knew he would miss the cup final, instead it was suggested to Fergie that he makes a sub and brings Scholls off which he did.

Also if were talking rules of the game why did Neil Barry not send off Cesc Febregas on Saturday for a woeful two footed studs showing career fretening tackle.

No no we'll know when Chelsea are good when we get decisions like that go our way and we get drawn at home in the FA Cup.

Nope you will know when Chelsea are good when they have a trophy cabinet that doesn't resemble the Fleets !!

the biggest wage bill and a transfer policy that no other club could be even come close to sustaining, and still jealous of other clubs. Its like us being jealous of Margate, in their present state.

I just don't get it. They should just be thankful that Roman came along when he did, else they would be doing a leeds by now.
