I have just been told that dedicated Canvey fan Stan "The Dustman" has passed away this morning. Anybody who knew Stan would have known that he was a larger than life character, and his love of football and socialising made many an away trip. He has been ill for quite a while, and as a result was not able to get to as many games as he would have wanted.

RIP Stan

That's really sad. Doesn't seem that long ago I saw him in Basildon town centre and was having a chat with him then.

He was a great bloke and passionate about Canvey. He could always be relied upon to get the singing going especially after a few ciders!!!

I remember him from when I first started watching Canvey regularly about 7 years ago so will feel very strange not to see him around Park Lane and on the coach to away games.

I'm sure a few drinks will be drunk to him tomorrow at Horsham.

RIP fella.

I am truly shocked. Stan was one of the people i knew at Canvey longest. He was aways really nice to me whenever i saw him and had loads of chats about everything and anything!

The place will never be the same without him. Rest in peace mate.

Does anyone know of any arrangements yet? I'm sure many at the club would like to pay their last respects to Stan. He was a great bloke to have known.

Spot on, those are the correct details with the funeral at Pitsea Crematorium. Canvey fans are welcome to attend to give Stan a decent send off.

Then back to the clubhouse for a few ciders in tribute!
