The ground could be turned into a fantastic little stadium with a capoacity well over 7000 at half the cost of a new build - if we own it!

I think the board have tried in the past to increase the length of the lease - to make it worthwhile I reckon we would need a minimum 25 years.

The ground is situated right in the heart of the Thames Gateway and the plot is probably valued 10 times higher than it ought to be.

For that reason I cannot see LaFarge either selling it to us on the cheap or extending the lease.

The fact that LaFarge don't own it could be another stumbling block.

I'd much rather see the current stadium upgraded than a new development elsewhere. We're giving up enough heritage as it is, be nice to keep the stadium where we all have fond memories.
