I wonder how much of George's inconsistency is down to confidence. As Hooky said, a few times last night, he looked very good, particularly running across the edge of the box, with defenders reluctant to tackle him.

Then he spoils it with a mazy run down the flank straight into a defender.

Was funny to see Kezie clatter Oliver (the centre half the size of Canary Wharf), almost knocking him over.

He is getting some confidence, Liam is showing his confidence in him by giving him a start and 90 minutes.

It says a lot about George's character that he has come back so strongly after his earlier alledged spat with Liam, which saw him omitted from the team for a while.

He looks as if he has lost weight, got fitter and stronger, and all round more confidence, from which he is reaping the rewards of goals and full matches.

I am happy to eat my slice of humble pie too, and am glad than Georges looks likely to stay, obviating the need to replace him later this season.
