Dorking produced their best performance of the season on Saturday as they held top of the table North Greenford Utd to a draw. Indeed, Dorking boss Tony Webb will rightly feel that his side did enough to claim their first win of the season against a side strongly tipped to feature centrally in the promotion race, with North Greenford riding their luck on many occasions to take advantage of some slack and unlucky finishing, while Greenford clinically took two of their infrequent chances.

Dorking had Junior Gyimah return to the fold in attack alongside Phil Page, with Adie Butler injured following a midweek practice game, while influential full back Paul West was also missing.

Dorking were put under some immediate pressure from kick off, but steadied themselves after 5 or so minutes and for the next half hour Dorking were on top, and really should have been ahead in this good spell for the Chicks. Several clean chances were spurned while a 20 yard Phil Page shot hit the bar as North Greenford rode their luck.

North Greenford had ventured rarely in to the Dorking half but showed why they are already living up to their billing as title challengers when they took the lead against the run of play, a ball into the box seeing a skewed clearance from Dorking captain and keeper Dan Coote finding Lawrence whose acute angled strike nestled into the net with Coote wrong footed.

Dorking kept up their play either side of half time, with Page and Gyimah increasingly involved, but despite the pressure Dorking could not find their way past a resolute Greenford defence, and when Greenford made it 2-0 on 68 minutes through Kenny, the points seemed secure.

But Dorking had other ideas and within a minute, a great strike by Gyimah from just outside the box saw Dorking pull a goal back. Chicks now were in control but time looked to have run out for Webb
