What a great performance by the lads, every single one of them played superbly.Great to see wilko back shearer was again immense at the back, and the new lad looked so assured and a debut goal too.On the left walshe was just pure class, ran at their defenders and really put them to sword,Rob owen had another great game he really has put some great perfomances in this year. The thing that bothered me was the reaction of some supporters to their keeper,i thought pinnock did catch him and he was genuinely injured so why are callin him a cheat, their skipper got himself sent offby grabbing macca by the throat. He didnt deserve the treatment he got from those idiots,it does,nt put us in a good light if idiots like that treatplayers in that way.so well done lads lets have a another big performance next week and who knows we could be mid table.SUPER REDS. applaus.gif applaus.gif

I was under the impression that the keeper felt it was a foul due to him moaning at the ref after being treated.

There was also a few seconds delay between contact and the keeper deciding that he was 'injured'.

He went for a 50/50 ball feet first - a few inches either way and it would have been Pinnock who copped the injury.

Also he recovered very quickly from his injury!

If anything, Pinnock bottled out of the challenge. If there was any contact at all it was very, very small. The whole RMI side were moaning, whingeing, bad tempered and cheating throughout the game and whilst not condoning such behaviour, I thought the keeper deservered everything he got. He did cheat by faking an injury and should have gone in the book as well. So there!

I agree, everyone had a good game today although they still seem to lose concentration during parts of the game. One of which lead to the Leigh goal. That said in general the passing was crisper and if we score three and concede only one I'm not complaining.

The referee was above average today but he must remember to look to his assistants, there were a few occasions today where he missed the offside flag. Although the crowd were shouting for Maden to be sent off for his challenge on Chris Moore the referee seemed to prefer a stern talking to and an 'if you do it again' lecture together with a caution. So, when Maden took no notice of that and a few moments later fouled Ben Walshe the referee kept his promise of arranging an early bath. I do hope Mr. Lancaster gets all of what is coming his way as well. I wonder if thr Leigh management made him walk home!

Roll on next Saturday.

Excellent perfomance!!! Great football to watch - nice to see the team is passing the ball rather than trying to blast it into orbit.

With Owen doing the business on the right and Ben Wahsle on the left wing, the team looks far more balanced and threatening going forward, which can only help the cause of Pinnock and Haworth.

If you were being over-critical you could point to the fact that despite all our attacking play in the first half we failed to take advantage until Leigh were reduced to 10 men. Against 11 men the team needs to be more clinical in front of goal.

Having said that, Haworth was fantastic today winning 90% of aerial challenges and providing knock-ons for Pinnock to feed off. His presence in the box also means Wahsle has someone to aim for with his pinpoint crossing. Chris Moore at the back also looked highly promising.

At least those behind the goal had something to sing about this week and what a difference they make to the atmosphere in the ground. Give yourself a well earned clap on the back!

As far as irony goes did anyone else notice the Club programme listed Leigh as having only 9 players in their starting line up - little did we know they would only finish with 9 men!

oh and 1 last thing . . . whats happening with the Players numbers? When the tannoy announcer gave out the Fleet's line up I thought he was calling Bingo numbers "24, 18, 17". There were days when we knew 5 meant a player was playing at Centre half or 9 meant a centre forward. Its difficult enough as it is to recognise half the new players let alone giving them obscure shirt numbers.

A great team performance today - this is the sort of game (i.e. against a fellow part-time side) that we really need to win in order to beat the drop, and so it was a relief that we did get the three points. It was a little alarming to see Wilko come on in the second half, but at least the 45 minutes gave him some match practice before the Exeter game next week, when O'Reilly will be suspended.

A very open game today, and it was pleasing to see us continue to attack at 2-1 as we had before that, rather than attempt to grind out the result. The only moan is about the sparse crowd, which may well need to be boosted by the Exeter travelling support next week if we are to get back to the 1000 mark.

784 there today,I believe. A few good results should see that steadily rise, hopefully. And JimGNFC, I know where you're coming from, mate! I know it's all about registered squad numbers etc but at least the team should be announced from the goalkeeper onwards. I think Shearer came after Pinnock today! Now, when I was a lad..........

Agree with whats been written, i thought it was a solid performance and Walshe really makes a difference. I hope he can stay with us for longer than 1 mth. He took a lot of pressure of Skins today by taking free kicks, corners and also covering Skins and i thought Skins looked much more composed today in his performance. I must say that i really like the looks of James Pinnock. He looks an excellent signing, he's quick has excellent touch and really puts himself about. With the right service this guy is gonna score a lot of goals for us. Good performance and out of the relegation zone already !!!

Who got Man of the Match, by the way? I know who I'm voting for on the Fleet web-site. The same lad who made it in the Conference team of the day in the Non-League paper. I think I'll pop along to the Hornchurch site to let them know!

Oh, and I see a certain Craig Rocastle has just signed for Chelsea!! It said so in their programne, apparently!

Great result on Saturday, good to hear the noise level improve as well!

Shame about the attendance, but then I suppose it was Leigh afterall. What was all the gesturing on their part after towards the end about?

Exeter saturday and hopefully a bigger turn out on our part, I'm sure we can guarantee Exeter to bring some!
