Well done Dorkinians! Hadn't realised they were of such a level that they would compete in the Premier Cup. Play at Pixham Lane I think.

Witnessed Westfield 1-2 Windsor this evening, good game.

To be fair to old boys teams, we played Old Wilsons a couple of years ago and they were excellent.

One other result that caught my eye was in the London Senior Cup where Tooting & Mitcham drew 1-1 with Croydon.

Tooting won 4-3 on pens. There was no extra time as per LFA rules.

Is it time the Surrey FA did this too?

Didn't realise you were there TRS, or I would have said hello.

We played well tonight and if we show that effort and workrate for the rest of the season we'll do well. If we worked that hard saturday we would have won the game.

In truth we rode our luck a bit first half, but second half we matched Windsor and can count ourselves unlucky not to have secured a point. Our young back four were pretty solid and it was great to have a few more of our experienced players back. Hope to have a few more back in the coming weeks.

Myself and rest of the new management can now start to look forward.

Well played to Windsor and good luck for the rest of the season.

8 wins on the trot now. We should probably have put the game to bed in the 1st half when we played some great stuff, particularly dominating through slick passing and movement through the midfield.

In the end although we deserved the win, the 2 goals we did get were both as a result of defensive errors.

A hard fought 3 points against a capable team.

Chris, why would it of been Ash Reserves? Dorking are allowed into the Premier Cup,but not the Senior Cup TRS

Indeed and I believe they are at Met Police (res) tomorrow night in the Premier Cup. Think it was Lammas first team as well tonight?

Surrey FA have invited a few AFA teams into the Premier Cup which is a good thing. It adds something a bit different to the mix. I'm old enough to remember the days when some of the AFA teams played in the Senior Cup as well but I think that would be a step too far for most of them these days.

We've played a couple of AFA sides in this cup in recent years - Old Wilsonians are still the best we've faced IMO but Dorkinians were decent as well.

They do play at Pixham Lane. One of the oldest venues for football in the county. The 1888-89 Surrey Senior Cup final was played there. I think Duncs may have been involved.....

It was a first team game for Ash tonight.

The Surrey Senior Cup is for teams down to step 5. The Premier Cup is for step 6 first teams, reserve teams of clubs in the Senior Cup and some invited guests from the AFA.

The Intermediate Cup is sort of for step 7, 8 and 9 teams plus the reserves of clubs whose first teams play in the Premier Cup. I say sort of step 7, 8 and 9 as it includes both divisions of the Surrey based leagues below the Elite League but only the top division of the Aldershot & District League but then most of those clubs play in H**pshire anyway so aren't worth worrying about.

I'm not 100% certain where the Surrey clubs who play in lower Sussex based leagues fit in.

Stay tuned for a new website detailing football in Surrey, hopefully going as far back as the days when what we now call rugby and football were the same thing.

It's less than a week old right now but give us a year or so to build it up......

Our match report is here: It's not pretty!

VPCTFC is that definitely the same Pixham Lane site that was used back in the day?

JR, TSF, you are local, any ideas one way or the other?

Seeing as I work in Dorking and Epsom played there on many occasions in the past, I will have to pay it a visit, but had assumed that it wasn't the same place.
